Netflix’s Physical: Asia has taken over the region, especially after its adrenaline-filled finale dropped last week. And while viewers were busy rooting for their home countries, they were equally invested in the contestants—like Japanese heartthrob Katsumi Nakamura, Filipino fighter Mark Mugen, and of course, fan-favourite Kim Jae-hong, better known by his moniker Amotti and winner of Physical: 100 Season 2.

Amotti and Choi Seung-yeon take on HYROX Singapore

Over the weekend, Amotti touched down in Singapore to compete in the highly anticipated HYROX Singapore race at Singapore EXPO. He wasn’t alone. He teamed up with his Physical: Asia partner Choi Seung-yeon for the Mixed Doubles Open (25–29 age category).

The duo powered through the course and finished second with an impressive time of 59 minutes and 9 seconds, just five seconds shy of first place. After the race, we caught up with them for an exclusive chat to find out what they’ve been up to since filming wrapped.

The comment that sent fans spiralling

Beyond the newfound fame from the show, Amotti has also been navigating a huge personal milestone: fatherhood. In a recent vlog, he shared that he and his partner are expecting a baby soon. Naturally, we had to ask how he’s adjusting to the idea of being a dad.

His answer?

“My son… I don’t know, son or daughter. I love you.”

But it was the pause after “my son” that did it. Choi’s jaw literally dropped beside him. Fans later picked up on the moment too, and speculation about the baby’s gender quickly spread online. Amotti hasn’t revealed anything officially, and he’s kept his private life tightly guarded, so for now, it’s anyone’s guess.

Eyeing their next challenge: HYROX Osaka

Baby talk aside, the duo already has their next athletic mission lined up. Both Amotti and Choi shared that they plan to compete again at the AirAsia HYROX competition in Osaka, happening from 30 January to 1 February 2026.

Choi admitted she was a little disappointed about missing first place in Singapore, and wants redemption. Amotti simply smiled and said he wants to win “one more time.”

Their partnership clearly works, evidently, as seen on Physical:Asia. Choi mentioned that she’d be “too afraid” to attempt the race solo, while Amotti nodded in agreement. Despite their physical strength, both confessed that HYROX’s biggest challenge wasn’t the workout stations, but it was the running.

“Running is hard,” Amotti said. “Running is crazy,” Choi added with a laugh.

Amotti’s favourite Singapore dish

After pushing themselves on the racecourse, Amotti knew exactly what he wanted next: a comforting bowl of bak kut teh. Specifically, Song Fa Bak Kut Teh, which he says is his go-to Singaporean dish. Choi shared that it would be her first time trying it.
