Aside from the thrilling Olympic sports that are happening over the next few weeks, we have to admit that we’re also excited to ogle over some of the hottest athletes to ever bless the Games. Sure, some of us may not know much about some of the sports, but what we do know for sure is that this year’s roster features a blend of jaw-dropping bods and striking good looks.

From Tom Daley to Ran Takahashi, we’ve rounded up some of the most drool-worthy Olympians that are set to steal the spotlight (and our hearts).

Tom Daley

1/9

British diving star Tom Daley is back and turning heads in the 10m synchronised diving event at the Paris Olympics. Known not just for his incredible talent but also for his striking good looks, Daley first competed at the Olympics at age 14 in 2008, becoming the second youngest male Olympian ever. Not bad for a teenage boy, if you ask us.

With his chiselled physique and charming smile, Daley has amassed four Olympic medals - 1 gold and 3 bronzes.

After announcing his retirement in 2021 and focusing on knitting (yes, knitting), he surprised fans by announcing that he would be diving back in for his fifth Olympics this year. Daley aims for yet another medal as he continues to charm us, proving that some things indeed get better with time (like fine wine, or in this case, a hot diver in swim trunks).

Caeleb Dressel

2/9

Hold your breath ladies. Caeleb Dressel is back for the Olympics and he’s hotter than ever. In the previous Olympics, Dressel won five golds at the 2020 Tokyo Games and two golds at the 2016 Rio Games. This season, our 1.9 metre American hunk isn’t just winning gold medals; he’s winning hearts

That being said, it is unlikely that any swimmer will ever surpass Michael Phelps’ record of 23 Olympic gold medals. However, in the 2019 World Aquatics Championships, he broke Phelps’s decade-old world record in the 100-metre butterfly, winning the race in 49.50 seconds.

Get ready to swoon as he takes on the 50m freestyle, 100m butterfly and 4 × 100m freestyle relay races (although, his tattooed arms have already got us swooning).

Armand “Mondo” Duplantis

3/9

Swedish men have never failed to get our hearts racing and Mondo Duplantis is no exception. Born to an American pole vaulter father and Swedish long jumper mother, he has established new world records in pole vaulting on eight separate occasions (sometimes triumphing over his own records - proof that you are your greatest competition).

With his soft brown hair and adorable smile, an eye-candy like him can’t be missed in the Olympics. Speaking of candy, did you know that Mando loads up on sweets just before his jumps? That’s right he doesn’t eat his veggies either but that hasn’t seemed to stop him from breaking records.

Kim Won-ho

4/9

Let’s be real – most of us already have a soft spot for Korean men. This Olympics, we’re adding one more Korean to our list. The charming son of Gil Young-ah; an Olympics winner of gold, silver and bronze medals in the 90s. While Kim Won-ho hasn’t yet secured any Olympic medals himself, he aspires to follow in his mother’s impressive footsteps.

Whether or not his dreams come true this season remains to be seen, but we know for sure he’ll be featured in our dreams tonight. Be sure to catch him in the Mixed Doubles Matches this week!

Yudai Baba

5/9

Our Japanese heartthrob Yudai Baba is back this year. Buckle up, because he’s ready to whizz across the court again. And let’s be honest - he’s already got our hearts racing!

Previously, he had signed temporarily with the Texas Legends, an NBA G League, making him the first Japanese player to leap straight from Japan’s B.League to playing professionally in the U.S. How impressive! We’re sure that if he wasn’t so busy making basketball history, he would’ve easily earned a modelling contract.

On top of that, we remember his little dancing video from 2019 so let’s see if we get to catch another one of those this year.

Jeong Seung-won

6/9

Jeong Seung-won has the ability to make even the most dedicated football fans lose their focus. With his perfectly tousled hair and captivating eyes, we can’t stop thinking of him even when he’s off the field.

While his team came in #5 in the last Olympics, they’re definitely hoping to score a medal this year. And we’re hoping for lots and lots of close-up videos of him during the Games. Catch him effortlessly glide across the field in Paris this week as he showcases his agility and adorable smile.

Ran Takahashi

7/9

A Japanese Volleyballer with some British and German blood, Ran Takahashi is a perfect example of how mixed men are such irresistible packages.

Incredibly talented, he joined Japan’s national team at only the age of 18 and played for the Tokyo Olympics, all while still in college (talk about multitasking). Besides his impressive skills on the court, his striking charisma and way with words make him way too easy to fall for.

This year, his team is eyeing the Gold in Paris, so be sure to catch him serving up some cool shots at the Games.

Welson Sim

8/9

Another catch in this Olympics is Welson Sim, a swimmer from Malaysia. We sure have a lot of swimmers on this list and I blame the washboard abs and tiny swim trunks that they come with.

Welson Sim currently holds the Malaysian record for 100m freestyle, 200m freestyle, 400m freestyle, and 800m freestyle, and has more than 10 SEA Games medals under his belt. But his need for speed isn’t limited to the pool - he’s also a fan of motorbikes, often sharing pictures of himself on his bike. Let’s face it, we can’t get enough of men on bikes (and men in trunks).

Loh Kean Yew

9/9

Loh Kean Yew, the charming Singaporean badminton player, is another hottie we’re excited to see in Paris this year. While he was born in Malaysia and moved to Singapore at age 13, his undeniable charm makes him our favourite.

Though it is only his second Olympics, in 2021, Loh Kean Yew won the Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Championships, all while having an injured ankle during the finals. He also secured the top spot at the Madrid Spain Masters this year and we’re hoping he brings it home from the Olympics too.

Whether you’re a Badminton fan or not, don’t miss out on cheering on our very own sports cutie at the Games.
