Celebrity chef and popular TV host Gordon Ramsay’s Bread Street Kitchen is opening at Marina Bay Sands. Here are a few other celebrity chefs who have recently opened restaurants here or will be opening more by year’s end.

1. Jamie Oliver (United Kingdom)

The “Naked Chef” is heading to Orchard Road to open the second outlet of his family-friendly restaurant Jamie’s Italian at Forum The Shopping Mall. It is expected to open in the third quarter of the year.

It will serve its signature freshly-made pasta, thin-crust pizza and salads. The bar section will also serve a variety of cocktails, wine and beer.

The restaurant chain began in 2008 in Oxford, England, in partnership with the British celebrity chef’s Italian chef-mentor Gennaro Contaldo. There are now more than 50 restaurants worldwide. The first Jamie’s Italian opened in Singapore at VivoCity in July 2013 – a collaboration with property group Hotel Properties.

2. Wolfgang Puck (United States)

The Austrian-born chef-restaurateur is opening his second restaurant at Marina Bay Sands, Spago, later this year. He is also behind the popular steakhouse Cut.

Spago was Puck’s first restaurant, opened in 1982 at the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood. It moved to Canon Drive in Beverly Hills in 1997 and is known for its Californian cuisine. Other branches include The Forum Shops at Caesars on the Las Vegas Strip and Four Seasons Resort Maui.

Spago takes over the space vacated by the hotel’s lounge The Club, known for its cheese and chocolate bar. That moved to Level 55 earlier this year.

3. Ian Kittichai (Thailand)

Mr Kittichai’s Bangkok restaurant Issaya Siamese Club ranked No. 31 on last year’s Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list put out by British trade publication Restaurant Magazine. He also runs nine other restaurants including Kittichai in New York, Hyde & Seek Gastro Bar in Bangkok, and KOH by Ian Kittichai in Mumbai.

His creations at Tangerine are inspired by both Asian and Western cuisines, with an emphasis on “healthy” meals, drawing from fresh fruit and vegetables, whole grains, sustainable seafood, grass-fed beef and free-range poultry.
