Success is rarely achieved alone. Guidance and shared experiences can be powerful catalysts for women to grow, lead and realise their full potential — an ethos that lies at the core of Her World’s annual Mentorship Programme, presented in partnership with Clé de Peau Beauté and Singtel. This year, its fourth edition focuses on all things leadership. The kickoff event, held on June 29 at the SPH Auditorium, brought together 10 inspiring women leaders and 13 mentees, who went through a rigorous process of interviews and were hand-selected to join the six-month programme.

At the event, Her World’s editor-in-chief, Elizabeth Lee spoke on the significance of the programme. “As a platform, we speak to women, we tell their stories. And we thought: How can we take this one step further? How can we connect women and help them in their careers? That’s why we have all of you here tonight, mentors and mentees,” she said.

Mollie Rogers, keynote speaker of the evening, former leader at Longchamp for 20 years and author and founder of the book Emotional Inclusion, spoke on her inspiring leadership journey and the lessons she learnt.

“Leadership doesn’t arrive fully formed. You don’t wake up one day and simply know how to do it. You learn in the way you learn anything difficult: imperfectly and whilst everyone is watching,” she said.

“Mentorship isn’t about handing someone a map. None of us actually have one. It’s about reminding someone that the doubt they’re feeling right now isn’t a warning sign, it’s the beginning,” she added. “It’s exciting to everyone starting this mentorship journey tonight.”

The 10 accomplished women who have generously volunteered their time and expertise as mentors for Her World’s Mentorship Programme include:

  1. Rae Nah, Head of Customer Experience, Singtel Singapore
  2. Christine Goh, Commercial Senior General Manager, Shiseido Singapore
  3. Tiziana Tan, CEO & founder of Brain Juice Collective

“I hope to be able to add some value to my mentee’s leadership journey; if I can make it 1 per cent easier, I think I would have met an objective.”
