5 gorgeous, sustainably-designed industrial loft looks from Silestone

Whether you’re looking to decorate your new home or you’re looking to refresh your space, opting for an industrial-style theme home is a failproof option that’s trendy and versatile. Think — concrete flooring and dark furniture — you can easily match it with any home decor without it looking cold or bare.

Pioneering in quartz surfaces, Silestone by Cosentino has launched a new collection called Silestone Loft which comprises of five new industrial-style colourways inspired by iconic neighbourhoods around the world to transform your home with.

So, what comes to your mind when you hear the word ‘industrial style’? If you’re thinking of steel structure, exposed bricks, naked lightbulbs and raw concrete – you’re correct. What might not so well-known is that this style is quite versatile, depending on the way you mix the material palette.

Moodboards-Silestone-Loft

Silestone Loft looked to five neighbourhoods in four cities – Seaport and Little Italy in New York, Corktown in Detroit, Camden in London, and Poblenou in Barcelona – to come up with five colourways that are both versatile and sustainable.

Silestone Loft is the first Silestone collection made using a patented technology called HybriQ+, which reduces the amount of crystalline silica in the production, allowing the collection to use higher percentage of recycled materials without compromising its performance. This technology was the result of a three-year R&D aimed to anticipate global stricter environmental laws, so you can rest assured that your choice of materials contributes to the reparation of our planet.

5 industrial designs that will instantly transform your home
Are you a fan of true neutral? Camden’s soft cement grey is for you.
image
image

Named after London’s hippest counter culture hotspot, Silestone Camden presents a soft, delicate and consistent cement grey shade with a fine grain and a very subtle white veining that can easily appear like a solid, light-toned grey.

image

Dress it up with a sheen of chrome, dark-tinted glass, and pale wood, or go casual with denim, and cheerful solid colours like mustard, teal and sunwashed carmine.

Need a dose of warmth for your industrial look? Poblenou at your service.
image

Barcelona’s Poblenou neighbourhood was the epicentre of Spain’s industrial revolution. Today, it is a sunny, distinctly Mediterranean suburban neighbourhood that is both edgy and family-friendly, which inspires Silestone Poblenou’s warm grey shade, subtle veining and fine sandy texture with subtle flecks of light that appear when it catches the sun.

Pair Silestone Poblenou with textured natural material like woven straw, and knitted wool or take the Mediterranean vibe up a notch with shades of green, terracotta, florals and raw timber.

Fancy a classic, gritty industrial look? The weathered Seaport is for you.
image
image

Past and present co-exist harmoniously in New York’s seaside district in south-eastern Manhattan, whose docks, restaurants and shops display a unique character salted with the sea water and wind. Silestone Seaport embodies this look with its weathered dark grey cement look perfectly salted by a white texture that mimics water stains.

image

Pair it with vibrant, deep solids like crimson and teal. Add extra grit with pronounced textures like tweed or bark and warm-toned wood with dark grain. Or go light with tinted and textured glass and plants to create a charming seaside look.

Can you do industrial look with white? Absolutely. Here is Nolita.
image
image

Nolita is the affectionate nickname of New York’s North of Little Italy neighbourhood, which sports neutral grey and white buildings so distinctive from the other neighbourhoods. Silestone Nolita pays tribute to this area with its sophisticated white-on-white shade with delicate lace-like pattern.

image

Pair it with pale timber, geometric elements and natural stones or even leather, paper and fur to brighten the material palette and add an edge to the minimalist aesthetic.

How about something darker, more luxe and sultry? Meet Corktown.
image
image

You can’t go wrong with black – this wisdom applies beyond the fashion world. The darkest shade in the Silestone Loft collection, Silestone Corktown takes inspiration from the urban environ of Corktown neighbourhood in Detroit, featuring a multi-dimensional black surface like no others.

With a rich brown undertone and flecks of bronze and copper that appear to sparkle in certain light, Silestone Corktown adds richness to dark material palette, a perfect complement to dark timber, exposed bricks and rich solid colours, and a worthy companion for sumptuously luxe texture like hammered brass.
