South Korean breakout star Go Yoon-Jung who rose to stardom playing the role of sorceress assassin Naksu in the popular Netflix series Alchemy of Souls nails every look given to her.

And we’re not just talking about her luminous visage. In spite of her hectic schedule and frequent hairstyle changes, her mane always looks luscious and shiny, with nary a split end in sight. It’s no wonder Yoon-Jung was chosen to be the ambassador of Korean hair care brand Ryo.

Congrats on your appointment as ambassador of Ryo! How did you feel when you were named ambassador and what made you decide to work with the brand?

As an actress, you constantly have to style your hair. How do you maintain the condition of your tresses?

I try to avoid excessive dyeing or perming as far as possible. Even though I frequently style my hair, I take care of my tresses by being consistent with my hair care routine. Hair is one of the key factors that can affect a person's image. An interesting thing I learned during the advertisement shoot with Ryo is that hair can change a person’s appearance dramatically depending on how well you maintain it.

The weather in Singapore is hot and humid, do you have any advice for taking care of your mane in such conditions?

It's crucial to keep the scalp dry using non-irritating products. Since a hot scalp can also cause scalp problems, I would recommend using cooling and calming hair products.

As an actress, you've taken on various roles and looks (as well as hairstyles), do you have a favourite hairstyle? Which is it and why?

The hairstyle that I had as Naksu in Alchemy of Souls. I played a professional killer in the show, which gave a different vibe (to the look).

What is one thing that people might not know about hair care/hair styling in the K-drama scene?

There isn't anything specific that we use while shooting. However, I think it’s important to tailor your hair care routine to the weather.
