Chanel creative director Virginie Viard is in the mood for the sun, sea and living in the tropics. Beachwear became ready-to-wear as she sent chic swimsuits inspired by its iconic ’90s designs down the Chanel runway.
Designers Lisi Herrebrugh and Rushemy Botter of Nina Ricci took this message further by fuelling their love for diving, reinterpreting vintage dive suits, diving belts, swim caps, wetsuit shoes and flipper handbags into everyday style. There was also a heavy rotation of swimwear and beachwear at Paco Rabanne and Johanna Ortiz, which both showed striking vacation-ready prints on dresses and matching co-ords.

Since I live in a tropical country, I’m really loving the new styling ideas – particularly with low slung trousers – as it gives the swimsuit more mileage.
