One is a major player in the art world best known for his colourful anime-inspired contemporary art. The other is one of the biggest Gen Z musicians of our time. So it is only natural that Takashi Murakami and Billie Eilish would come together for not one, but two major collaborations. Following the pair’s collaboration on Eilish’s animated music video You Should See Me In A Crown last year, the duo are teaming up once more, this time for a Uniqlo UT T-shirt collection.
The Billie Eilish x Takashi Murakami collection ($19.90-$29.90) is like taking a peek at the 18-year-old Grammy winner’s tomboy wardrobe. Think over 12 oversized T-shirt designs in Eilish’s go-to colours like neon orange and lime green, two bucket hats and two caps. Murakami’s influence can be seen in the artist’s inimitable anime flowers graphics.
These cheery cartoon characters appear alongside Eilish’s own symbol called the Blohsh (a lopsided stick figure copyrighted by the singer) and a sketch taken from her music video among others.
The Billie Eilish x Takashi Murakami UT collab will drop on Uniqlo’s e-store from June 22. To get in on the hype, register online to cop a piece. Take a closer look here
