I don’t know if I have good or bad luck, but just before I review any product, my skin tends to break out. So as luck would have it, a week before I was due to start reviewing the Skin Inc Optimizer Voyage Tri-Light++, I broke out after using a new brand of surgical masks. I had painful pimples and clogged pores along my jawline.
The upside: I could then see if the Optimizer Voyage Tri-Light++, which has blue LED light that is used to soothe and heal acne, helps my maskne.
The device has been lauded by celebrities and influencers, and received rave reviews by thousands of fans all over the world, so I was hopeful that it would work. Moreover, the device was inspired by NASA technology, so I expected to see some real results using it.
When I started my trial, I used the blue light on my jawline. You might wonder: How does shining blue LED light even help? The light is supposed to kill acne-causing bacteria and make oil glands less active, hence reducing breakouts.
One thing to note if you’re using this during an active breakout: Don’t glide the device over your bumps too hard because it can be painful. Instead, I simply shone the blue light close to my skin, for about half a minute on each area.
After using it for a week, I am happy to report that my maskne has reduced drastically, while my pimples healed faster than usual. I’m comparing this to the rate at which my zits usually heal when I use pimple patches.
