Natural, wavy and voluminous long hair – that’s K-drama sweetheart Park Min Young’s signature hairstyle we wished we all had.
In her most recent show “Her Private Life (2019)” (if you haven’t caught it, read all about it here), Park plays Sung Duk Mi and is often seen in a low bun together with her power outfits. In her 2018 hit rom-com “What’s Wrong Secretary Kim? (2018)”, she had a long ponytail – a very wearable look for the office if you have luscious hair like hers.
As Park celebrates her birthday on March 4, let’s take a look at all her signature hairstyles:
In the drama ‘What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?’, Park plays an intelligent office secretary who develops a romance with her narcissistic boss, played by Park Seo-jun. Perfect for the office, she wears her curled hair in a high ponytail which helps to maintain a neat and tidy appearance.

Park’s long waist-length hair is dyed a warm chestnut-red colour which helps to make her skin look even fairer than it already is. Try adding C-curls into the last 1/3 of your hair with a pair of tongs to achieve soft waves like hers.

For a chic and cool hair style that Park has on, first do a deep side part on your hair. Next if you have a long fringe, trim your fringe till it is at chin-length before tying up the rest of the hair into either a low ponytail or a bun for a faux bob.
For a soft and feminine look, go with wavy curls as worn on Park. First create layers in your hair, then generously apply curling mousse to extend the life of your curls. Try using a small barrel instead of a large one so as to better control the size of the curls. After curling, spritz a medium-hold hair spray all over the curls. Use fingers to gently separate the small curls to create bigger and rounder ones. Add more hairspray for more hold if you’re going to be out the entire day.
Perfect for Singapore’s weather, the top knot is a look that is great if you want to look sleek and polished for an evening dinner or even when you just want to put second-day (or third-day, hey no judgement) hair away from your face. It all boils down to how tight and sleek you want the look to be. If you’re going to go glam, spritz a generous amount of hairspray to keep your hair in place throughout the night. Pro tip: Spritz some on bobby pins, if you have time, for added support.
