While the Screen Actors Guild (or SAG) Awards is the lesser-known sibling of the Emmy Awards and the Academy Awards (Oscars), it is a notable event in the awards season calendar that celebrates the best in film and television.
Back for its 26th run, celebrities were dressed to the nines for the gala.
Ahead, we’ve rounded up celebrities who scored perfect 10s for their SAG Awards red carpet showing.
Margot Robbie is one of the celebs who can’t seem to go wrong on the red carpet. So it should come to no surprise that she’s on our best-dressed list.
The Birds of Prey actress was dressed in a beautiful Chanel ensemble that featured superb details from the plaid pattern, halterneck silhouette, ruffled skirt to the chunky accessorising.
Another red carpet royalty, Lupita Nyong’o came in a custom Louis Vuitton by creative director Nicolas Ghesquière.
The contrast between the white gathered bodice against the sparkly skirt was refreshing while the addition of a black belt and diamond Forevermark jewellery cemented her place in our list.
While we love dramatic, jaw-dropping gowns, sometimes less is more on the red carpet. Take Jennifer Aniston’s resplendent white Dior number for example.
Its elegance stems from its understated colour, while the gathered waist and sash detail are crowning finishes. The creamy hue, with its slightly warm tone, complements the sun-kissed Aniston too.
If you aren’t sure how to style a deep V-neck dress, take a leaf off Emily Hampshire’s book. The Schitt’s Creek actress wore a dusty rose gown from J Mendel that showed off her cleavage and decolletage.
Because her outfit was dramatic and voluminous (puffy sleeves and ruffles of tulle), we loved how she pared it down with just earrings and a matching clutch.
Whoever said you can’t wear a blazer with a gown obviously hasn’t seen Winona Ryder’s Dior ensemble.
The interplay between the sleek matte blazer against the translucent tiered dress underneath was utter perfection – and it shows you how you can wear monochrome without looking flat.
Another way to make black a statement on the red carpet? Make it an off-shoulder gown and throw on a floor-length train according to Jennifer Lopez’s Georges Hobeika dress.
The Harry Winston jewellery too inject shine and glamour and kept the Hustler actress looking anything but dull.
Reese Witherspoon has always been seen in feminine and girly outfits. So when she decided to shake things up with this edgy Celine number, we were pleasantly surprised.
Besides the stud-like detailing, the harness-like neckline adds flair and breaks up the usual (read: boring) gown silhouette we’re used to.
Big, voluminous gowns were, unsurprisingly, a staple showing at the SAG Awards red carpet. What made Cynthia Erivo’s Schiaparelli gown a cut above the rest was the masterful and tasteful design and tailoring.
Just take a look at the layered waist detail and the train of the gown and how well it sits on her body.
Scarlett Johansson is no stranger to the red carpet and it seems like she’s found the formula to slay her public appearances.
Johansson’s body-hugging teal Armani gown flattered her in all the right places, including the plunging neckline and pleated waist details.
If you couldn’t tell, black was a popular colour on the SAG Awards red carpet. What made us fall in love with Gwendoline Christie’s rendition was the sculptural design created by Rick Owens.
The choice of a bright lip and light makeup was great at balancing the architectural dress and added a polished finish.
