5 best Airbnb hostel apartments to book in Hong Kong for under $110 a night!

5 best Airbnb hostel apartments to book in Hong Kong for under $110 a night!

Travelling in budget doesn’t have to mean roughing it out! Here are some affordable accommodations for you to check out on your next trip to Hong Kong

by Emily Joosten  /   March 15, 2016

We love our good food, shopping and nightlife, which makes it no surprise why Hong Kong is such a popular destination for us Singaporeans. The metropolitan city is constantly abuzz with excited whispers and lights, and the delicious wafts of freshly made bo lo bao in the air only serve to lure us in further and further down the rabbit hole…

As much as we love Hong Kong though, the city is anything but cheap. Flights alone can cost quite a bit, and since land is scarce, accommodation rates tend to lean more on the steep side.

And while we’d love to stay in a fancy suite overlooking the beautiful skyline of Hong Kong, our wallets don’t always permit that kind of lifestyle. That’s why we’ve come up with this list of incredibly Instagram-friendly Airbnbs hotels that cost less than SGD100 per night* – to ensure that neither your social media feed nor your experience in Hong Kong get compromised.

Studio in Tsim Sha Tsui

This apartment is newly renovated, which means you’re less likely to face maintenance issues, making for a much smoother trip. The host is friendly and, judging from the fact that he’s only gotten good reviews, incredibly helpful too. It’s located near the shopping area, which means you’ll never be too far from food and clothes – the real stars of the trip.

Price: $108 per night

Wanchai Pigeon Burrow

“Pigeon Burrow” is perhaps the most apt way to describe this apartment; it’s a little bit on the small side, but envelops you in its cosiness and is extremely clean to boot (shout out to all the germaphobes out there!). It’s also just a five-minute walk away from the Wanchai station, so it’s definitely accessible.

Price: $78 per night

Large flat in Central

This one’s for the ‘grammers with a swanky feed. The flat is spacious and incredibly chic. It’s beautifully decorated and well-organised, making it the perfect backdrop for some #flatlay pictures of your #haul. It’s right in the heart of Hong Kong too, so you might want to book this for a longer stay since you’ll definitely want to utilise the apartment fully.

The only downside to this is that there are no escalators in the building, which means you’ll have to climb up to the fourth floor; but for that value for money, we’d gladly use the stairs. Silver lining: All that exercise tones up your legs for the new clothes you’re buying!

Price: $110 per night

Apartment in Central Soho
image

A cosy apartment, this is the perfect option for couples looking for a comfortable temporary home to return to after a day of trekking through street shops and food vendors. There’s a bed big enough to fit two in the bedroom, but if you’re looking for a midday respite, the pull-out sofa in the living room is the ideal place for a power nap. If you’re worried about having to spend too much on public transportation, then you’ll be glad to know that this apartment is near various night spots and major amenities. Seems like you’ll definitely be needing that pull-out sofa!

Price: $106 per night

Studio in Sai Ying Pun

Sure, this listing might be on the smaller side, but if you’re looking for a clean apartment that has that added bit of charm, then this is the one for you. Accessibility isn’t an issue either, as it’s near the MTR, and taxis are easily available. It’s a great area to explore beyond the usual Soho, with parks and restaurants nearby for all the #hipsters out there.

Price: $91 per night
