Manifestation is a hot topic amidst the wealth of spiritual content on TikTok. Users on the social platform have promoted various manifestation techniques that are said to work with varying degrees of success. The latest phenomenon of late? The whisper method.
Rather than simply making a wish, the whisper method is a visualisation practice that supposedly gives you the power to compel people in your life to behave in a certain way that you’ve envisioned.
So if you’re waiting for your crush to text back, or hoping to find your dream apartment, you can associate that want with a person (your crush or your real estate agent, for example), and the technique might just work for you.
Intrigued? Here’s everything you need to know about the whisper method.
TikTok user Sarah (@hothighpriestess) is one of the pioneers of this manifestation technique on the platform. She explains that you’d want to raise your vibration frequency. To put it simply – the higher the frequency of your energy or vibration, the happier, lighter and more at ease you’d feel; this eventually helps manifest your desires much quicker.
To do so, start creating some positive affirmations and repeat those daily. “What’s going to happen is that these affirmations are going to seep into the brain of the person you’re trying to manifest,” Sarah explains. “And they will begin to view you the way you view yourself.”
Next, she explains a step-by-step process to execute the whisper method:
1. Visualise the specific person and wherever you think they are going to be at this moment, whether it’s their home, office, or any other locations. Try to be as specific as possible.
2. Envision yourself walking up to the person (Casper the friendly ghost style) and whispering in their ear – three times in a row – what you’d like for them to do (for example, texting you).
3. Lastly, kiss them on their forehead (near their third eye) and as you metaphorically walk out of this vision, view them doing that act you envisioned right then and there.
I do believe in manifesting my goals, and so I was curious to test this technique out. While the whisper method is fairly simple, I would say that trying to picture a person and what they were doing exactly in that moment felt a tad too creepy for me. I felt that I was intruding in that person’s privacy – even though the visualisation practice is simply unfolding in my head – which doesn’t help much with the high vibrational frequency that I was supposed to be on.
And while my manifestation request has yet to materialise (not within ‘three minutes’ as well, unlike what some of the other TikTok users have claimed), there’s no harm in testing the technique out, as long as you respect boundaries and consent. After all, if the whisper method brings me one step closer to my goals, there’s no harm in trying it out, right?
The whisper method is all about visualisation, and technique is suitable when there’s a person involved that can influence the outcome you desire. When weighed up against manifestation techniques, I would say that the whisper method is slightly more challenging as compared to vision boarding or the popular 369 method.
Visualisation works on a more internal level, and it’s also important to visualise as many details as possible together with the ‘you’ that can attract those things. As with other manifestation methods, the whisper method relies on aligning your thoughts and behaviour with your higher self.
Long story short: Mindset is everything.
