Not one, but three – Samsung has unveiled new additions to their Galaxy series today, with three new S23 models in the lineup: the base Galaxy S23 model, the all-rounder Galaxy S23+, as well as the powerful Galaxy S23 Ultra.
To mark the launch, Samsung has brought the Galaxy Experience Space to five markets globally, including Singapore. If you’re looking to experience the new Galaxy S23 Series for yourself, head down to the experience space at Gardens by the Bay (West Lawn) from 3 to 25 February to get a first-hand peek at the phones and test them out.
The Galaxy S23 series comes in four nature-inspired matte hues – phantom black, cream, green and lavender – as well as certain online exclusive shades such as lime and sky blue (for Ultra models).
Pre-orders for the new Galaxy S23 phones will commence online from 2 February, 2am at selected online stores and telecommunication operators. Customers who pre-order their Galaxy S23 Series devices will enjoy up to $350 in Samsung e-vouchers, early delivery and will be able to collect or receive their devices from 10 February.
Aside from the official Samsung online store, pre-orders are also available at: Amazon Singapore, Shopee and Lazada
Otherwise, the phones are expected to be available starting from 17 February, 10am, at local telecommunication operators (M1, Singtel and StarHub), the authorised Samsung retailers and outlets, as well as major consumer electronics & IT stores.
Curious about the specs and differences between the three new models? We break it down, below.
For those looking for a compact phone with premium features, the new Samsung Galaxy S23 is for you. Similar to its S22 predecessor, the S23 phone features a 6.1-inch screen as well as rounded contours. Most of the updates across the S23 lineup are iterative, like the phones’ new processors and streamlined designs. The major difference in design is the removal of the contour housing for the back cameras, which creates a sleeker look. The new S23 series is also the first to feature Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, offering durability for long-term use.
And because we love selfies, the new cameras in the GalaxyS23 series are a delight. In particular, the phones feature Samsung’s first Super HDR selfie camera, jumping from 30fps to 60fps, for sharper selfies and videos.
Avid photographers will delight in the new Expert RAW app which enables DSLR-style image shooting and editing in RAW and JPEG – no bulky camera equipment needed. Stargazers can now capture a clear view of the Milky Way with Astrophoto settings, which allows you to capture the brightness of the stars clearly.
Always on the go? You can now connect mouse and keyboard functionality between the S23 phones, a Samsung Galaxy PC, and tablet. You can even copy and paste text, like URLs, seamlessly from one device to another.
Battery-wise, you’re looking at 3,900mAh, and you should expect to get 50 percent charge in 30 minutes. The S23 is only available with two storage sizes, 128GB or 256GB.
The Galaxy S23 is available starting from $1,188 (128GB) or $1,298 (256GB).
The Galaxy S23+ might be the middle child of the new lineup, but don’t overlook it. The model features all the specs above and more; it’s a phone built for endurance.
The 6.6-inch screen is a comfortable size for both work and leisure, and the powerful 4,700mAh battery should last you more than a day’s worth of moderate usage. 30 minutes of charging will get you 65 percent charge.
The S23+ is also available in two storage sizes, 256GB or 512GB.
The Galaxy S23+ is available starting from $1,528 (256GB) or $1,698 (512GB).
The Ultra is undoubtedly the star of the show, and the most powerful phone between the three. The large 6.8-inch edge display with a reduced curvature creates a larger and flatter surface area for the best visual experience.
The cameras on the S23 Ultra are Samsung Galaxy’s most advanced camera system, tailored for nearly any lighting conditions and engineered to render incredible detail. Snap photos at night with ease, as the improved capabilities optimises your shots in a wide range of ambient conditions. Videos are taken to a whole new level with enhanced 8K video at 30 frames per second with a wider angle. Worried that your video might be shaky? The new cameras feature a stabiliser that allows you to generate sharp, high-quality photos and videos.
Productivity-wise, the Ultra allows Google Meet to be paired with Samsung Notes. There’s also an embedded S Pen now available with the phone. With Google Meet’s live sharing option, participants can simultaneously co-edit a document from each of their Android devices, rather than viewing a shared screen.
In terms of battery, the Ultra is super powerful with its 5,000mAh battery. There are three sizes: 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB.
The Galaxy S23 Ultra is available starting from $1,828 (256GB) or $2,098 (512GB), or $2,458 (1TB).
