If you’re feeling tired, stressed, or burned out at work, your weekend is an invaluable time to rest and recharge. Which is why it’s important that you plan the places you’d like to visit on your days off.

For those of you who are in the East this week, be sure to pop by Homebaker, Ree and Mummy’s cafe over at Katong to try their decadent spread of cheesecakes and other sweet treats like their innovative Gelato Can that come in assorted flavours such as Lemon Tart, Pistachios, and Cheesecake.

Alternatively, there are also other activities that you can try over the weekend too. Since we celebrated World Mental Health Day earlier this Monday, 10 October, a great exhibition that you should check out this weekend is the Mental: Colours of Wellbeing located at Marina Bay Sands.

With that being said, for the full list of things to do, keep on scrolling.

custom

Turning her passion for baking into a successful business, Celine Ng, who was a real estate salesperson then, started her home baking business with her daughter, Reeyern to sell her mouthwatering bakes. After gaining a loyal following and a strong online presence, the mother-and-daughter duo has decided to open up their first cafe over at Katong V.

Over at the small and cosy 12-seater café, you’ll be able to indulge in crowd-favourite desserts such as the Charred Pineapple Cheesecake, Creamy Caramel Biscoff Cheesecake, Chocolate Hazelnut Cheesecake, Almond Pecan Toffee and more.

But that’s not all, in fact, you can also satisfy your gelato cravings at the cafe too. Made by Celine’s husband, Mark Ng, you can expect to try some unique flavours like Lemon Tart, Pistachios, and Cheesecake that are sure to delight your taste buds. Even if you’re on the go, you’ll also be able to take away your gelato in Ree & Mummy’s innovative Gelato Can, so it’s perfect especially if you’re giving it as a gift to your loved ones, or even for yourself.

Ree.Connect by Ree and Mummy is located at 30 East Coast Road, Katong V, #01-03, Singapore 428751

Check out the newly-opened modern French dining concept, élan
custom

Looking for a new place to dine in Orchard? This modern French dining restaurant is the place to be. Located at Shaw Centre, élan offers approachable, modern French cuisine with hints of Asian influence to the table.

Some of the few noteworthy dishes that piqued our interest include the foie gras terrine dome coated with dark chocolate which adds a surprising sweetness to the savoury dish; seabass & bouchot mussels in a mandarin-infused seafood broth; crispy tilefish fillet on melted leeks, that’s crispy on the outside and soft on the inside; and last but not least, the freshly baked orange madeleines, that come with dark chocolate ice cream.

A feast for the eyes (and stomach), this restaurant is really worth checking out if you’re in the area for lunch or dinner. What’s more, we also love how cosy the restaurant is, and it’s not as intimidating as the other higher-end restaurants – which makes it feel like you’re at home.

Celebrate Oktoberfest with 1-Group concepts
image

For Oktoberfest this month, 1-Group concepts will be celebrating the occasion at multiple locations around Singapore. If you’re looking for a place with a panoramic view of the city, while indulging in a hearty platter of your favourite meats and refreshing pints, be sure to swing by 1-Atico at ION Orchard. Alternatively, if you’re in the CBD area, you can also pop by 1-Arden for an after-work pick-me-up with Erdinger promotions and a choice between the Beer x Tapas Platter or Beer x Meat Platter.

Of course, one event that’s not to be missed is the Oktoberfest celebration over at Alkaff Mansion that’s happening this weekend. In the day, you’ll find a Day Pop-Up Market boasting a wide selection of local brands fit for you and your furry friend, as well as loads of family-friendly activities like the Liquid Flow Bear Painting Bear Bricks Painting Activity by L’Atelier Du Reve.

At night, the place transforms into a night festival, in which you can indulge in some delicious grub from food trucks while grooving to the live performances and DJs that will be performing throughout the night.
