The long National Day weekend may be over, but that also means that we have a shorter week and that makes Friday feel a little closer. To kickstart your plans for the weekend, celebrate panda Le Le‘s first birthday at the zoo and take part in panda-themed oil painting, LED canvas art and shadow-box light-art workshops. Besides that, you can also check out the World’s First Museum of Subway or test your limits and challenge yourself with Under Armour’s upcoming Combine event that’s happening this August. For more ideas on what to do this weekend, keep on scrolling.
Fans of Subway, this one’s for you. The F&B household name is bringing to life its very own museum, also known as the Subway Big Museum of Taste, from the 10th to the 30th of August 2022, exclusively in Singapore. Expect loads of delicious fun for the whole family, with nine digital and interactive installations over four zones – all splashed in the vivid Subway colours of marigold, white and green. (P.S. look out for the seven-metre-long iconic and longest-running Italian B.M.T.™ sub right at the entrance of the museum!)
What’s more, guests will also have the chance to go behind the scenes and assemble their own virtual sub – think “kneading” your own dough, “slicing” vegetables and challenging your friends to a dance-off while you “pick” your protein. Before you leave, don’t forget to also get yourself Subway’s signature freshly-baked Subway cookies and Coca-Cola at the event.
The Big Museum of Taste is located at 11 Prinsep Link, Singapore 187949.
The first giant panda cub born in Singapore, Le Le turns one on August 14, this Sunday. As part of Le Le’s birthday celebration, visitors can meet the pandas at the Giant Panda Forest during daytime and can also take part in panda-themed oil painting, LED canvas art and shadow-box light-art workshops.
But that’s not all. In fact, visitors will also be treated to a bamboo-inspired birthday cake display, which sparks fireworks hourly from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. The Panda-stic party bundle this weekend will also allow you the chance to get up-close with animal stars from the Once Upon A River show too.
The inaugural Under Armour Combine event is finally here!
For the unacquainted, the UA Combine 2022 is a training competition that allows athletes to compete against each other in their country and test their limits. Set to take place across four different countries: Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and Thailand, the event will comprise eight different tests that will challenge your agility, stamina, vertical, power, endurance, strength, speed, and cognition.
Athletes will earn points for each completed test and they will be ranked accordingly at the end of the event. On top of that, cash prizes and medals will be handed out to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed athletes, for both men’s and women’s divisions, of which you’ll have the chance to bring home up to $5,000 in cash. On top of that, participants taking part in the UA Combine will also receive a head-to-toe Under Armour competitor kit too.
And while the event will be held next week on Saturday, 20 August, it’s best that you sign up now so you can have ample time to prep yourself for the event.
