Updated on April 15: By now, most of us would have heard of the new stricter Circuit Breaker and safe distancing measures (here’s what you can and cannot do) announced by the Multi-Ministry Taskforce last Friday (April 3), to curb the spread of Covid-19.
Non-essential workplaces are to close, schools are to shift entirely to home-based e-learning, and people are discouraged from coming into contact with anyone besides their immediate family.
With these stricter measures in place, dining out has become a no-no, and if you’re desperately craving a meal that isn’t instant noodles… we’ve got you.
From local delights to cocktails and Michelin-starred restaurants, we’ve compiled a list of establishments offering delivery or takeaway services so you can enjoy a hearty, delicious, and most importantly, socially-distant feast from comfort and safety of your home.
Besides, it’s a great way to support Singapore’s food and beverage industry, which has taken a hard hit, during these trying times.

Rest assured you’re munching for a good cause – 10 per cent of revenue from every order of the lunchbox set is donated to the National University Hospital. (The restaurant has also committed to delivering 50 lunchboxes to NUH twice a week, for eight weeks. NUH is its chosen beneficiary because that was where Chef Haikal Johari recovered, following his motorbike accident back in 2015.)
Each day brings a different menu: Tuesdays serve the Angus Beef Burger, Wednesdays offer the Country Sourdough Sandwich, and on Thursdays you get the classic Rye Sourdough Reuben Sandwich. All sets come with sides of chips and salad.
Act quickly though, because the lunchboxes are limited to 50 sets per day.

The Cicheti Group, which owns casual Italian restaurants, not only uses delivery platforms such as Oddle, Deliveroo, Grab and Foodpanda, but has also launched its own system online and through WhatsApp. It charges a flat $10 delivery fee. It has also tweaked some of its offerings to make them suitable for delayed consumption.
Ms Liling Ong, a partner of the group, says: “Most of our pastas at Bar Cicheti are cooked a la minute and meant to be enjoyed immediately. Transporting them would alter their texture and taste.
“Our solution was to create DIY pasta kits comprising fresh, hand-made pasta and a sauce of your choice packed separately. You heat them up together.”
The two-Michelin-starred restaurant in One Fullerton is closed for a month, but chef-owner Emmanuel Stroobant and his wife, Ms Edina Hong, came up with an omakase bento box comprising eight items plus cheeses and desserts for home delivery.

To spice things up, diners can enjoy the meal virtually with friends and family in other homes through the Zoom video meeting app.
Everyone logs in at an appointed time and Stroobant appears at the start to introduce the dishes.
But as the restaurant needs an order of 15 to 30 boxes and at $180 or $220 a person, it is a hefty bill.
