10 places to satisfy your roast duck cravings in Singapore

While chicken remains the most consumed meat type and poultry in Singapore, the popular fowl pales in comparison to duck when it comes to flavours and savouriness. After all, duck’s dark meat is packed with meaty flavour and has more fat (and thus, flavour) compared to the popular fowl – anyone who has tried duck can tell you that. One way we Singaporeans love to consume duck is roasted duck, which can come in many forms such as Cantonese five-spice duck, Peking duck and herbal duck. Ahead, we point you to the 10 best roast duck places in Singapore that celebrate the hearty rich flavours of the poultry.

Imperial Treasure Super Peking Duck
custom

As the name implies, Imperial Treasure Super Peking Duck specialises in Peking duck made with traditional methods. The crispy, mahogany duck is carved at your table before being wrapped in a soft crepe, scallions, cucumber and hoisin sauce. The remaining meat can then be cooked with rice or noodles. The Peking duck is only available only at their Paragon and Asia Square branches and advanced order is required.

Dian Xiao Er
custom

If you didn’t know, “xiao er” refers to the way inn waiters were called in ancient China. And at Dian Xiao Er, herbal roast duck is the star dish. There are two iterations – Ten Wonder Herbs, Wild Ginseng and Angelica Herb. The first is made with 10 traditional Chinese herbs (pictured) while the latter two lets wild ginseng angelica root (or dang gui) shine.

Dian Xiao Er has 14 locations in Singapore.

London Fat Duck
custom

Despite the name, London Fat Duck is actually a homegrown label formed between the Fei Siong Group and Akashi Group in 2015. The name is instead a nod to famous roast ducks found in London’s Chinatown. Using Irish ducks, London Fat Duck’s Signature London Roast Duck is the OG but they have London Peking Duck and Italian Truffle Roast Duck as well.

London Fat Duck has three locations in Singapore.

Kam's Roast
custom

Kam’s Roast is a Michelin-starred Hong Kong restaurant known for their roasted meats, chiefly among them of course is the roast duck. Pipa Duck is another roast duck option at Kam’s, a style of roasting that flattens the bird before roasting (making it look like the Chinese pipa instrument). Spatchcocking is said to result in a crispier duck than Peking duck.

Wang Fu Roasted Delight
custom

Located in a coffee shop in Bedok South, Wang Fu is helmed by former Kam’s Roast chef Wong Hsieh Fook. Besides roast duck, the hawker stall has also found fans with its take on roast chicken, char siew, roasted pork as well as various doubled boiled soups. Owing to their location and difference in branding, Wang Fu is also more wallet-friendly compared to Kam’s Roast.
