The next chapter of Emily In Paris is set to return to Netflix (and yet again to ignite our wanderlust) with its second season on December 22, 2021.
The first 10-episode season follows ambitious American marketer Emily Cooper’s (Lily Collins) transfer to the glamorous city of Paris from Chicago, and the culture shock she experienced – from the language barrier to being utterly clueless in the ways of the French and the awkward interactions with her new boss, Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu).
And (spoiler alert if you haven’t yet watched season 1), she was also caught in a love triangle with her neighbour and hunky French chef Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), who later seemed to have broken things off with his girlfriend Camille (Camille Razat). Towards the end of the season, things get a little ‘complicated’.
The second season will continue to follow her shenanigans in the City of Lights. And while she’s getting better at navigating the city and the idiosyncrasies of its people, the struggles continue, especially in picking up the French language. In an interview with People, series creator Darren Star revealed that the season will be “more about digging deeper” into Emily’s character and experiences. You can also expect Emily to have a new love interest, a fellow expat in her French class, who both infuriates and intrigues her. But from the stills released, we’re still likely to be seeing more of Gabriel.
Then there are, of course, the barrage of outfits and designer threads that have had viewers of the first season divided into two camps – you either love them or hate them.
Check out the teaser below, together with some of the stills from the show.
