The queen of Caldecott definitely knows how to make a statement. Just take a look at her vibrant printed Ralph Lauren suit – it checks all the dress code boxes for the festive occasion. We also love how she went with a simple slick-back hair and let the ensemble do all the talking.

2020’s CNY was extra special for Fann Wong. Not only was Wong having a holiday in Italy with her hubby Christopher Lee and son Zed Lee, but January 27 was also Wong’s birthday when she turned 49. Her loved ones were also there to celebrate the joyous double celebrations over good food and wine.

The couple and the family celebrated CNY in Guangzhou, China. Here, the family went strawberry picking, which allowed their son to enjoy a fruit he loves.

Besides visiting blood relatives, many take the time to meet and catch up with good friends. Such was the case for local veteran actors Huang Biren, Chen Hanwei and Pan Lingling.

According to Huang, the trio’s friendship has withstood the test of time and they have known each other for over three decades. However, this photo seemingly marked the first they have taken together.

Dennis Chew and Rui En grew close after acting as siblings in The Dream Makers (2013) and it seems that the two are still as close as before.

Chew posted a photo on his Instagram and wrote that Rui En came to visit on the first day of CNY and they had difficulties posing for a photo without bursting into laughter. Total #friendshipgoals.

Sharon Au took CNY to reflect and reminisce on her life. She had posted a throwback photo of her and her mother taken thirty years ago, possibly from a time before she entered showbiz, together with a re-enactment. Au also took the opportunity to send love and blessings to families who are going through difficulties.

We guess it is no secret that Benjamin Kheng loves flowers? He wore a vintage-looking top with women’s buttons and shoulder pads that supposedly garnered the approval of his grandma. The Khengs later posed for a photo with beautiful orchids (also check out other popular auspicious plants for good luck) that their grandmother had purchased, signalling an auspicious start to the year.

The affable host was spotted in a snap with her husband on day 1 of CNY.

She also posted a CNY greeting on the ‘gram wishing everyone a happy new year and good health in Mandarin, Hokkien and Cantonese. Seah had added that her father spoke Hokkien while her mother-in-law spoke Cantonese and that she has decided to embrace and celebrate a side of her that she rarely shows.

I know it sometimes comes as a bit of a surprise (because I have been told I am “ang moh pai” LOL), but I really love Chinese New Year! . Over the years I have come to embrace my Chinese side more and more, and this year am going the whole haul – trying to throw in come Hokkien and Cantonese into the mix! #dontlaugh #dontcryalso . Looking forward to the many hotpots, house parties and the time spent with family and friends. It also means a lot more driving over the next week, so be smart about it and fuel up at Esso’s Synergy Supreme+ for smoother journeys and a protected engine. Also, there is a chance to win the brand new Mercedes-Benz GLA180 when you do! http://bit.ly/EssoProsperityDraw . . . . #gongxigongxi #cny #cny2020 #chinesenewyear #chinesenewyear2020 #lny #lny2020 #lunarnewyear #lunarnewyear2020 #cnygreetings #cnysayings #cnyauspicious #EssoSG #EssoSynergySupreme #sp

Chinese New Year is an occasion where family members who are scattered across the globe return home to have a reunion and celebrate. This was no different for local songbird JJ Lin, who uploaded a photo of his large family, adding that he hadn’t seen his family for two years and how “everyone’s grown up now”.

Could Jay Chou be looking to add dumplings to his growing food empire? The Taiwanese singer posed for a photo with his wife, Hannah Quinlivan, holding a bowl of dumplings (which looked good!) that they had made themselves.

One-third of the popular Taiwanese girl group S.H.E, Ella Chen took the day visiting her relatives, very much as we did. The singer went matchy-matchy with her son, Jin Bao, in matching red outfits and oversized shades (sun protection starts from young!). Her other photos on Instagram also gave us a glimpse into her life, including a photo of them napping and posing with the family and lion dance troupe.
