Fans of horror, this one’s for you. The Taiwanese horror film revolves around the life of Li Ronan, who was cursed after breaking a religious taboo six years ago when Ronan was once part of a ghostbusters YouTube channel alongside her boyfriend Dom (Sean Lin) and his cousin Yuan (Wen Ching-yu), who collectively travelled to a remote village to see a Chen clan ritual, worshipping a god called Buddha-Mother. After the incident, six years later, Li Ronan now faces the struggle of protecting her daughter from the consequences of her actions.
The found footage film is in fact, inspired by a 2005 incident in Kaohsiung, Taiwan in which a family claimed that they had been possessed by folk demons and which resulted in the eldest daughter’s death.
Incantation is now on Netflix.

Based on the bestselling book, Santa Evita, the story follows the intriguing tale of Eva Peron’s embalmed body, which remained unburied for three years awaiting the construction of a monument that was never completed. In 1955, a military coup in Argentina overthrew then-President Juan Domingo Perón, and hid Evita’s body for 16 years to prevent it from becoming a symbol against the regime. Before her death, Eva had become a powerful political figure as General Perón’s wife, and her wandering unburied corpse haunted the country’s political arena for over two decades.
Santa Evita will be on Disney+ from 27 July.
