Leave it to heiress and beauty entrepreneur Kim Lim to throw the most epic party to ring in her 32nd birthday.

To celebrate her special day, she hosted an intimate and stylish black and white-themed soiree on Sunday (23 July) at Capella Bangkok with those closest to her in attendance, including her father Peter Lim, stepmum Cherie Lim and six-year old son Kyden.

The star-studded event that took four months of planning was attended by local celebs like Carrie Wong, Aileen Tan and Glenn Yong as well as regional artistes such as Raline Shah, Ase Wang and Patricia Good.

With the help of event company The Atelier & Co., her 250 guests were transported to a glittering LED wonderland, complete with a dramatic two-metre-tall floral display and luxe white-accented tablescape.

Dressed to the nines

Cementing her status as a style icon, the birthday girl glammed up in a show-stopping one shoulder draped dress from Ferragamo before changing into a glitzy number from Sportsmax. The unexpected colour palettes made her stand out amidst the black and white space. In keeping with the theme, her guests went all out with their fashionable black and white outfits.

Sparks fly

As for the festivities, a live performance by popular Thai band Getsunova entertained the crowd. The celebration culminated in a spectacular three-minute long fireworks display.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a birthday party without a delectable dinner menu and not one, not two, but 32 birthday cakes.

After dinner, the ballroom was turned into a club where guests danced the night away to live music sets from DJs (DJ Papermache, DJ Glory and DJ Kikie).
