Good old days
We can’t think of one person who doesn’t like a good celebrity throwback. As the old adage goes, a picture really does say a thousand words and these celeb throwback pics really takes us back to times gone by.

Since we can’t get enough of these throwbacks, here are some of the best celebrity snapshots from the yesteryear.
Can you recognise the star on the extreme right? Sure enough, that’s South Korean actress Song Hye Kyo. The newly-wed reminisced on her childhood days in this throwback photo shared on Instagram.
In what appears to be a snap from a school field trip, Song Hye Kyo and her adorable friends posed in front of a plane. We can’t help but wonder if it was a sign of what’s to come in her future? After all, the Korean actress was the leading lady of the award-winning military romance drama “Descendants of the Sun” where she starred alongside her husband, Song Joong Ki.
Sporting glasses, a short do with a parrot perched on the top of his head, local crooner Nathan Hartono looks almost unrecognisable in this throwback photo.
The heartthrob displayed his patriotism with this caption that accompanied the snap, “Embarrassing photos ahead but it tells a story…anyway, you’ve been warned: Singapore is not simply defined by the scenery, the shopping, or even the food. Singapore is defined by its people”.
“People who have dedicated their lives to a passion. And in that pursuit, have turned it into something much bigger, something few thought possible. With millions of stories of such passion, all on this tiny island, there really is no place like this. #PassionMadePossible”.
Clearly, judging from this old snap of when the Chinese actress was only four, Angelababy has always been a looker. We’re pretty sure that the beautiful 28-year-old starlet who has endured plastic surgery rumours for years put some of these speculations at ease when she posted this adorable snap of herself as a child, looking exactly the same as she does now.
The “You Are the Apple of my Eye” actress has always been photogenic. There is no denying that the camera loves her, just look this fun flashback of her as a little girl with the caption, “I’ve always liked posing with the peace sign. I’m sure everyone knows what to do when they see the peace sign”.
Shu Qi proved she hasn’t aged a day when she posted this gorgeous black and white throwback snap of herself with a message about moving on from the past. The 41-year-old Chinese actress who was born in Taipei went to Hong Kong at the tender age of 17 to pursue a career in acting.
She captioned the photo, “I was awoken by a dream where I dreamt of my younger self. The past is the past. We can’t turn back time and I wouldn’t want to live in the past.
Charmaine vs. Charmaine! The TVB actress shared this cute snap of herself at a young age with a split of her older with the identical expression. It looks like nothing much has changed except for her hairstyle. Along with this cheeky snapshot, Charmaine wrote, “There is an ancient Chinese proverb that says the character and traits of an individual are determined from the time he or she is three. Who can disagree with that?”
Things haven’t changed a bit for local sweetheart Rebecca Lim. She still looks just as bright eyed and beautiful as she did in this picture. The “While We Are Young” actress shared this adorable snap along with this heartfelt message wishing her younger sister a Happy Birthday, “Blessed birthday my little sister. The best sister in the entire universe. May God bless you with the very best. Love you to the moon and back sissy”. How sweet!
Before he grew up to become a famous actor, it looks like Elvin wanted to be a race car driver.
The hunky local actor reminisced his childhood days and posted this cute snap of himself along with this anecdote, “Sharing a throwback photo of myself when I used to zoom around on my toy car and scooter! I still remember how I used to go as fast as I could, couldn’t care less about crashing into things around the house, getting a scraped knee, and a good scolding from my mum. Those were my glorious “garang” (daring in the Malay language) day! I thought I’d be much more fearless as an adult but sadly, that’s not true. Now that I’m older, I wonder where all my fearlessness went. Why are we so wary, cautious and fearful of the little bumps in life?”
Veteran actor Chen Hanwei made our day by posting this utterly adorable photo of him and longtime best friend Zoe Tay. He gave a shoutout to his bestie with this moving caption, “I found this sentimental photo. Back in the day, we used to take the company bus together. Many things have changed since then but out friendship remains unchanged. In fact, our friendship is stronger than it has ever been. This is a mark of true friendship”. It’s not an overstatement to say that two talented celebs are the epitome of friendship goals.
