Initially at least, local actresses Chen Xiu Huan and Hong Hui Fang did not hit it off. In an interview with local media, the duo claimed that a malicious rumour had put pressure on their budding friendship. This rumour strained their relationship and they were at loggerheads with each other.
Xiu Huan added that they finally rekindled their friendship after a teary Hui Fang cleared the air. Over the years, the pair continued to work together and became bosom buddies and travel companions.
The two started out as competitors at the inaugural talent show, Star Search, organised by then Singapore Broadcasting Corporation. Zoe was the winner of the competition while Chen was a finalist.
The highly successful talent competition kickstarted their acting careers. We loved their on-screen chemistry in dramas like “By My Side”, “Devotion”, and more recently “A Million Dollar Dream”. Judging by this adorable snap that Ah Jie, Zoe, posted on Instagram, we’re pretty sure their off-screen friendship is still going strong. The duo went on a “#awaywithmybff” vacay to Okinawa earlier this year.

We’ve all heard that old adage that “men and women can’t be just friends,” but this strictly platonic friendship proves that saying wrong. Chinese actor, Huang Xiao Ming, who is now married to model-actress Angelababy, previously admitted that he had a crush on Vicky Zhao when he first laid eyes on her in the Beijing Film Academy.
However, they ended up becoming good friends, a friendship which has lasted to this day. Vicky even congratulated Huang Xiao Ming for marrying such a beautiful wife.
