Constance Song shared her thoughts on how motherhood has changed her in a social media post. "Some people don’t need kids to be whole, but I think that for me, having Baby O taught me that joy can be found by settling into what you already know, and she taught me the value of being patient with myself and with others. Becoming a mother has taught me to give unconditionally to those around me, and has given me the strength to be humble in the face of adversity.

This International Women’s Day, I wish for all women, just as I wish for my girls, to be brave, and have courage to live as you think is right, and at the same time, to have patience to see things through."

Constance Song has already started laying the foundations with her school-going eldest daughter. "I told her, ‘You can’t let your male teachers bring you to the toilet, or change your clothes. Your male classmates can’t touch your body as well". She has to know all these, [it’s] the first step to learning how to protect yourself."

Constance Song found learning how to ride a motorbike "difficult" and "too dangerous" but went ahead despite the protest of her partner and mother. "He said "Are you crazy? Are you out of your mind?"
