Contrary to popular belief, disposing of your belongings is not always free. Bulky furniture like bed frames and cabinets, and big appliances like fridges and washing machines need to be properly disposed of, and not left at rubbish disposal areas.
Most of the time when you purchase new furniture or appliances, the retailer or delivery company can arrange to help you dispose of your unwanted items. But that is not always the case, so it is better to check beforehand in case you need to arrange for dismantling and disposal yourself.
If you ever find yourself in this situation, here are some dismantling and disposal services in Singapore for you to consider.

Earth Recycling provides disposal of waste and bulky items such as furniture, appliances, glass doors and panels, and even large potted plants. Their customer service is very prompt and responsive, and the disposal team is usually on time and even early. If needed, they also provide dismantling of the furniture or doors before disposal.
Sustainability in the disposal industry is the motivation behind Earth Recycling, and all waste is sorted and dismantled at their facility to salvage for recyclables like metals and plastics. Fun fact – they hope to open a furniture thrift store in the future!
Their rates are competitive despite this, with single item disposal starting at $80 and lower rates per item if you have multiple.

As their name suggests, Junk To Clear provides full-service disposal services for your unwanted bulky items, which includes dismantling if needed. They are very reliable and responsive to queries, and even provide same day removal services if you need to clear things urgently.
Their pricing is also reasonable and transparent, and you can get an upfront quotation by sending them photos of your bulky items.
The team at Junk To Clear is also very professional and careful at preventing damage to floors and walls. They were even able to help a customer clear termite infested furniture without dropping any debris on the floor, which is extremely impressive.

This one is only for HDB residents – did you know that all town councils provide a bulky item removal service for free? You can schedule a date and time to leave your item at your door, and the town council will usually send over estate cleaners or conservancy workers to pick up the items.
As they are not professionals (I mean it’s a free service afterall), dismantling is not included, and not all types of furniture are allowed. Large furniture like built-in cabinets, multiple door wardrobes, pianos and fish tanks are not included for the free service. Depending on the town council, the service is also limited to once a month, or 3 items per household.
You can call your town council hotline, or visit their respective websites to arrange for an appointment.
