10 easy feng shui tips for career advancement and success in 2023

You can further enhance the energy with metal-based décor items such as bells, a music box or wind-chimes, and decorate the area with pictures of successful celebrities or figures whom you look up to.

The Prosperity Star resides in the northeast area this year, meaning that spending time in this location could bring you amazing wealth luck. “Apart from spending plenty of work and play time here, you can also move your entire workspace to the northeast to enjoy the best results,” says Master Adelina. “For businesses, try to arrange your meeting rooms in the northeast area too. This can bring great prospects to your business and you will see greater productivity and success.”

She advises one to keep the space well-ventilated to ensure that the energies may move in a constant, breezy flow, and to enhance the area further with warm colours of yellows, oranges and reds for the space.

A table lamp or a decor piece that is red in colour at the south corner of your desk can help attract recognition, fame and achievements. The colour red should be vibrant and uplifting, instead of dull or unclean. This will also boost your luck in getting a promotion.

The south corner of your home will have plenty of positive energy, and so you’ll find yourself blessed with happiness, joy and good communication here. “Aspiring entrepreneurs should spend more time in this area,” notes Master Adelina.

Fresh green plants here can bring positive energy to a stagnant area.  Avoid cacti or any plants with thorns, and make sure you use real plants.

The 3 Jade Star resides in the east area this year, which carries disagreeable energies that may cause annoyance and hot tempers. Try not to use this area of your office as much as possible. Master Adelina recommends removing plants in the area, and instead decorating it with “a warm light, candle, red-coloured carpet or floor mat”.

To avoid negative energy that can affect your income (and health), make sure that your work space in the west corner isn’t facing any sharp corners or edgesThese sharp edges can invite in negative energy, and can cause migraines, headaches, pressure and unhappiness for yourself and others. Keep your desk facing a different way or try to put up a blockade or something between your desk and the sharp edge or corner if you can’t move it.

The northwest area will bring great luck in the form of power, success and promotions. “The 6 White star here can also enhance your powers of persuasion, making it easy to convince people. If you want to expand your influence or see success in certain areas, do spend more time in the northwest,” says Master Adelina. “Entrepreneurs can also benefit from using this area.”

To strengthen the positive energy here, the feng shui master recommends decorating the space with earthenware or crystals. They can also attract benefactors to assist you in your work. Remember to cleanse the crystals regularly to keep them at their most effective.

If your workspace is in the center and it is impossible to relocation, place a blue, black or grey floor mat or carpet and tuck six coins underneath this mat, advises Master Adelina. This area is inauspicious, and may cause finance issues and miscommunication.

“Make use of metallic based cures such as figurines, bells, wind chimes and sculptures to suppress the flow,” she notes. The feng shui master also recommends using a saltwater cure here, which might help dispel some negativity. To do so, place a glass or porcelain vessel, add six coins and some salt solution (one-thirds sea salt or rock salt mixed with two-thirds water).

If possible, place a water feature in the north corner of your house or office to activate good career possibilities and opportunities. Consider fountains that have a flowing water system or even a fish tank that has moving currents, this will bring you luck.

Similar to the east area of your home and office, the southwest area has negative energy as the 2 Black Star and the Sui Po Year Breaker reside in this area for 2022. Master Adelina advises one to keep this location quiet and clean. Try to avoid making your desk messy or disorganised in the evening as this can cause stagnant energies to accumulate.

“Avoid renovation or construction works of any kind. If needed, please do so on an auspicious date and time,” she notes. “Metal ornaments such as pewters, weights and metal sculptures can help to counter the negative energies.”

The southeast corner plays host to the 4 Green star this year, which brings great prospects in career, business, self-improvement and academia. If you’re looking for success when it comes to self-improvement, the feng shui master recommends displaying four Chinese calligraphy brushes. “Fresh green bamboo in a vase filled with water is a good enhancer,” she advises. “For love and romance: display fresh flowers.”
