Besides K-pop artist Rain flying into Singapore especially for this big reveal, local celebrities Zoe Tay, Fann Wong, Christopher Lee, Rui En, Rebecca Lim and Sheila Sim all showed up the red carpet on Friday night.
Swipe on to find out what Cartier pieces these celebs wore on the red carpet and what you can expect at the revamped store.
The revamped Cartier store is now a triplex, up from the duplex in the past. Occupying 688 square metres, this store will be the largest Cartier and the first triplex in Southeast Asia.
With over 25 years of history in Singapore, Cartier has two other stores in Singapore, besides the ION Orchard one, at Marina Bay Sands and Ngee Ann City.
They are the Love, Trinity, Juste un Clou, Ecrou, Amulette, Santos, Ballon Bleu and Tank collections. Furthermore, you can shop for your engagement bands and rings at this floor too.
If you haven’t heard already, Cartier had recently launched a new, slimmer version of the Juste Un Clou. As less material is needed to make them, these new nail-inspired jewellery costs almost half the price from its classic counterparts. You can read more about the refreshed model here.
These are the four: Jewellery, high and fine jewellery, watches and accessories.
While Cartier is known for their watches and jewellery, the brand also sells leather bags and goods and writing instruments. Lest we forget, Cartier also has line of fragrance, with Carat by Mathilde Laurent being the latest to join the family.
The second floor, pictured above, plays host to their Cartier’s high and fine jewellery bar in Singapore.
American socialite Barbara Hutton and Linda Lee Thomas, British model Nina Dyer, Mexican actress Maria Felix and Duchess of Windsor Wallis Simpson all have influenced Cartier’s designs through its 171 years of history.
Not only does the third floor pay tribute to them all, the private salon, titled Le Salon Cartier is closed off to the public and can only be accessed only by invitation for bespoke client treatment. However from now till Dec 6, you can register here to get a glimpse of this ultra-exclusive space.
Besides the brand’s iconic panthers gracing the walls, store designer Bruno Moinard had also added bas-relief flora motifs like the orchid, coconut trees and ferns. The orchid being our national flower (and a motif used by the brand), these designs were purposefully chosen to reflect the tropical climate of Singapore and unique to this store and Southeast Asia.
If you’re an avid Rain fan, you would have probably caught his sneak preview his Instagram where he revealed his Cartier invite that came with a bell-boy. He was clearly as excited to come as we were to receive him. On the big night itself, Rain matched his midnight grey ensemble with a Panthere de Cartier brooch and a Rotonde de Cartier skeleton watch.
She finished the outfit with a Galanterie de Cartier necklace and earrings from the high jewellery collection.
Zoe was also present for the opening of the ION Orchard boutique 9 years ago. How’s that for continuity?
Fann wore pink gold Panthere de Cartier earrings and necklace while Christopher wore a brooch, double C logo cufflinks and his own personal Drive de Cartier watch. Similar to Zoe, Fann and Chris also opened a Cartier store, but they opened the store in Ho Chin Minh City, Vietnam in January this year.
Rui En wore a total of 9.06 carats and donned the most number of diamonds that night, with her Panthere de Cartier necklace having 633 brilliant-cut diamonds.
18k yellow gold was used to create the Panthere de Cartier necklace, earrings and triple loop watch local model and actress Sheila Sim wore.
Sheila’s last appearance on Cartier’s red carpet was in 2017 for the Panthere de Cartier ladies’ watch event with Fann, Christopher and Rebecca.
Unlike the usual Panthere watches, this features blue sapphire spots and a fully diamond paved dial. The regular watch would not be paved and has black onyx spots.
In addition, these 10 watches, which sold out before the store reopened, comes with navy blue and black alligator leather straps.
