How you can wear heritage logos and monograms to work

It’s easier than expected

monograms heritage logo workwear styling tips

Unlike fashion trends, monograms and heritage logos will always be relevant. That’s because they’re part of a label’s branding. Hence, designers have been coming up with cooler twists to their fashion powerhouses’ logos to make them appealing and wearable.

From Gucci to Chanel, we show you how you can incorporate their maison’s monograms to spice up your workwear. Office-appropriate and fashionable? Now that’s our definition of cool.

How you can wear heritage logos and monograms to work
1. Use a statement yet functional bag

Rocking a bright and bold bag is an easy way to incorporate this trend into your office wear. This Prada saffiano leather top-handle bag, which sports the brand’s logo in its iconic inverted triangular mould, is the perfect functional bag to carry your belongings around in style. Wear it with a black number to let it pop.

2. Rock a monochromatic number

An easy way to wear monograms to work is to keep your outfit muted. This jacket from Chanel sports the French maison’s logos on its buttons, which is subtle and decadent, and is fashioned in black and white – two colours that’s definitely work appropriate. Let it be the statement by wearing it with a contrasting dress, like a baby blue midi number.

3. Carry a transparent accessory

We can never get enough of the popular plastic trend. Instead of wearing them on your feet (since they’ll fog up and look really nasty, especially in our humid climate), rock the trend in the form of a bag instead. This PVC piece from Longchamp tames the striking white monograms down, making it work appropriate. Finish it with white T-shirt and denim jeans for casual Fridays.

4. Go bold with a striking number

If you’re a daredevil, go all out and wear a bold printed number. True to Demna Gvasalia’s style, this Balenciaga piece sports multiple logos in different fonts, making it a statement. Tame this baby down with a black blazer and black accessories.

5. Finish your look with a classic and cool purse

A classic bag will always be work-proof. However, we’d recommend to opt for one that has a unique twist, like this Fendi Peekaboo top-handle that’s from the collab with visual artist Joshua Vides. This newly introduced purse features the iconic FF logo in graffiti style, which will look good when worn with a white shirt + orange midi skirt combo.

6. Wear a pair of bold pants

Not a fan of crazy coloured purses? Wear a pair of bright pants instead. This Gucci piece is what you should be in. The reason: Its jacquard has a metallic sheen to it, which makes it shine when its reflecting light while you’re moving about. Finish it with a nude blouse and a pair of white strappy sandals.

7. Complete your look with a bright cross-body

PSA: A cross-body bag can be your next work bag. Most fashion labels have been introducing larger sizes to accommodate those in favour of roomy accessories. Instead of going for the safe black, opt for those that are equally timeless, like these red Celine Triomphe and nude Burberry TB bags. Since their shades are classic, you can wear them with literally everything.
