The surge in discerning fashion consumers are prompting designers to look at making clothes differently (read: brilliantly). At Bottega Veneta, new creative director Matthieu Blazy is paving the way for fabric innovation when it comes to retrospective looks, like this season’s ’90s comeback. Designs that look like grunge-inspired flannel shirts and baggy cotton denims are, in fact, all fashioned from leather, courtesy of a special colour- printing/fade process.
The pursuit of chic daily dressing also saw Prada and Stella McCartney revive pared-down styles from their archives: the minimalist Noughties and sportswear fashion aughts, respectively.
