It started with social media, as many fashion trends do these days.
A boxy grey vest on Dua Lipa, a hot pink one on Yoyo Cao, and many more. By the time the Spring/Summer 2022 collections rolled around, it became official: vests are back in business.
At Adam Lippes and Givenchy, they came in classic iterations – black and lean at the former, and cut boxier over an explosion of lime green at the latter’s show in Paris. Meanwhile, in Milan, Fendi’s vests were made for the bar more than the boardroom, as peak-lapeled designs shone down the runway in white and champagne gold.
