The annual Star Awards is back for its 2022 edition. The biggest awards ceremony in Singapore celebrates the best and the brightest in local Chinese television where names such as Zoe Tay and Fann Wong have become cemented into local culture and consciousness.
Of course, we are tuned in for the visual feast that comes in the form of celebrity fashion and beauty looks. Ahead, we’ve rounded up the top red carpet looks of Star Awards 2022.
Elegant and sophisticated, Best Actress nominee Jesseca Liu swapped her black dress from last year’s Star Awards for a vibrant, flaming red asymmetric dress from Romona Keveža this year. Her outfit was completed with Harry Winston jewellery.
Rebecca Lim’s full-length sequinned Louis Vuitton gown gave off sporty vibes thanks to the geometric shapes of the colour-blocked design. Her signature pin-straight hair also helped to add casual ease. Her outfit was completed with a Longines watch and Goldheart jewellery.
Best Actress nominee Huang Biren doesn’t need to do or say much to show her expertise. Her black sparkly dress, slicked-black hair and jewellery all proved that she is an OG ah jie that doesn’t need a dramatic gown to upstage her peers.
Dressed in a soft, flowy gown that danced with her every step, Zoe Tay proved why she is Singaporean acting royalty in her aubergine purple Gucci dress. The loose curls also helped to accentuate the angelic look.
In a soft white gown with a full tulle skirt, Felicia Chin channelled the grace and beauty of a bride. She’s gunning for her tenth and final Top 10 Female Artiste win after missing it last year. Would 2022 be the year she gets to clinch the All-Time Favourite?
We aren’t strangers to Best Actress nominee Joanne Peh dressing sexily on the red carpet. And while her white and silver Ralph Lauren Purple Label outfit might look unusually covered up, the back opens up to show her toned silhouette. Her outfit was completed with Piaget watch and high jewellery earrings.
Paige Chua went with her usual comfortable ease but dressed it up with more colour. The elegant printed maxi dress from Etro helped elongate her frame, making the Top 10 Female Artiste nominee look even more glam. Her outfit was completed with Harry Winston watch and jewellery.
Carrie Wong understood the power of a little black dress and went with it. Her sleek V-neckline gown with a back slit from Saint Laurent was matched with an equally snatched slicked-back high ponytail. We also loved the dainty Tiffany & Co. jewellery that completed her regal outfit.
Ya Hui’s Dolce & Gabbana outfit played with opacity and transparency as the translucent tulle skirt showed hints of her legs. The loose waves in her signature bob also complemented the skirt. Her outfit was completed with Piaget watch and jewellery.
In a sea of solid colours, Cynthia Koh took centre stage with her colourful, glitzy Moschino dress. The polka dot design also injected some fun into the usually formal red carpet setting.
Nominated for her breakout role in My Star Bride, Chantalle Ng proved she is ready to clinch the award with her flaming red sparkly, body-hugging Bottega Veneta gown. Turn around and you will see the cutout back detail that adds extra style points. The outfit was completed with Cartier jewellery.
Hong Ling’s black dress might be understated, but the Top 10 Female Artiste nominee dressed it up with a black veil, chunky gold necklace and drop earrings that elevated the outfit with unique textures.
Sheila Sim covered up without dulling her model shine. Her blue Andrew Gn gown came with tassel trim and matched a striking pendant necklace. Her outfit was completed with Zenith watch and Madly Gems jewellery.
Denise Camillia Tan went for an ethereal look for the red carpet. Her all-white Berta outfit featured a fitted bodice and a fluffy tulle skirt that showed off her toned legs. The decorated Jimmy Choo heels also served to accent the details on the bodice. Her outfit was completed with La Joie jewellery.
A Greek goddess was likely the inspiration behind He Yingying’s monochromatic outfit. The dress, featuring a toga neckline, highlighted her toned physique. Her outfit was completed with H. Sena jewellery.
