When it comes to radical collaborations, Urs Fischer is no stranger to the game. Best known for his large-scale installations and scale-distorting sculptures, the Swiss-born contemporary visual artist is back with a new collaboration with Louis Vuitton. Launching this month, on the 8th of January, the collection will feature a modernistic take of the brand’s signature Monogram.

This includes hand drawn versions of the Monogram’s flowers and initials, that are named ‘memory sketches‘, which sees dream-like motifs adapted to suit the different products across the collection. From the range, you can expect to see a wide assortment of pieces to choose from that includes ready-to-wear, accessories and shoes.

Aside from that, the collection will also feature a unique twist to seven of the brand’s classic bags – a Keepall, Cabas, Onthego, two Neverfulls, Speedys, Pochettes Accessoires, and a charming, hard-sided beauty case. Not to mention, the new Monogram will arrive in two colourways — “Black/Red” and “Black/White” — which can be seen across the collection. For further tactile relief, the Monogram also uses a velvet-like material as well as a tuffetage treatment that’s been implemented for that extra 3D pop to the bags.
Riding on the monogram trend, LV fans will love the same eye-catching prints on pieces such as the Stellar Sneaker Boots and Hooded Nylon Parka — giving a fresh perspective cast on the house’s universal appeal. The logo-led collaboration will also feature a series of whimsical characters created by Urs Fischer.

This includes a cat dozing off in a banana peel, an avocado meeting an egg, a cat holding a light bulb — showcasing Fischer’s artistic and creative calibre. The series of characters are also united by the whimsical print and will be added to a colorful silk square.
