The original consensus we had at Paris Fashion Week was that show-goers underwent a transformation the minute they touched down at Charles de Gaulle airport. It’s out with street style friendly clothing and in with French woman approved pieces but, as the days go by the former is making a comeback.
Case in point here – a neon green something, a deconstructed dress, chunky dad sneakers and micro sunglasses. Pick the look apart and pick your favourite pieces.

We spotted three prints on this lady (it’s a Where’s Waldo situation but here’s a clue: her socks are polka dotted) but why is it aesthetically pleasing? A base colour of green looks great next to a complimentary shade of orange.
The chunky sneaker that has invaded every influencer’s and fashion fanatic’s closet has evolved this season – no longer it is that oversized dad-who-likes-to-throw-bbqs sneaker but instead, now looks like the sneaker your dad wears to work out.
We can’t guarantee that they’ll give you the appropriate SPF protection that your eyes need but aren’t they pretty damn cool?
We’re not even going to talk about the dress (here are some tame everyday options instead) but if there’s one boot to slip on this season, it’s the off-beat mesh boot that’s available at every price point.
No longer restricted to ‘40s jazz band musicians, the zoot suit (wide legs, wide shoulders) makes a comeback but if you’re hankering for one, make sure it’s in a neutral colour.
Granny florals, romantic blooms and feminine flowers are prints of the past. We’re encouraging an abstract floral print this season – if you can imagine it on a painting in a museum, it’s a sign for you to purchase it.
Phoebe Philo pioneered the look – a large tote that’s folded in half and carried by hand. Was it inconvenient? You bet. Was it painfully chic? You betcha life it was.
