The first of the Indonesian designers, William Utama’s black and red colour scheme was fierce beyond belief with a super rebellious and edgy style. We warmly congratulate William for winning the competition; he certainly deserved it! Oversized coats styled off the shoulder are everything to me, and this look is giving me everything I would want in a coat. The vibrant reds on the grays and blacks really make this look pop and give it a sexy, dangerous feel, while the fur on one sleeve is a somewhat classy twist that I am living for. Photo: Wesley Kow
Wilsen Willim was the second Indonesian designer to grace the runway. Willim based his collection on his take on the classic white shirt, a wardrobe staple. Clean looks with minimal accessories worked beautifully in this collection. I absolutely love this look because who doesn’t love a cape? And that embroidered clutch? I want it #omg Photo: Wesley Kow
We could not be any prouder of our born and bred Singapore designers after seeing Fedri Mak and Ng May Ee. Solid fabrics transitioning into sheer was the recurring theme in Mak’s collection, and it was somewhat reminiscent of layers of skin peeling off to reveal another one underneath. It is such an innovative way of utilising sheer fabrics that I absolutely love. The pale, cool colours of this look went perfectly with the sheer concept, and the stark white hoodie tied it all together nicely. Photo: Wesley Kow
May Ee’s bright and popping prints were outstanding. The digital, computer chip-esque print was really striking, and the way that the baggy pieces billowed made it seem alive. I loved the way that the exaggerated shoulders on this piece tapered downwards. This outfit looked especially fierce with the billowing train trailing behind the model. Photo: Wesley Kow
This samurai inspired collection was so clean and bold. The simplicity of many of the looks along with the bold, strong colours was a perfect combination, and the japanese-style clogs were a great touch. This piece is so wearable, and although it is very simple, it makes a statement. Photo: Wesley Kow
The Malaysian designer featured the coolest way to feature repurposed denim. The pale to dark blue hues, creams and corals is a palette that I was absolutely living for, and suited the uniquely textured pieces. I love these fringed pants so much; it’s strength is how unorthodox it is. Who knew that shredded denim could be so chic? If you look at the outfit behind, just check out those thigh high boots! I literally almost fell off my seat #slaytherunway Photo: Wesley Kow
Seksit gave us gorgeous silhouettes through all his looks, and exuded such a wonderful sense of grace. His colour palette was comprised of very natural and soothing tones, which was the obvious choice for the soft, floral theme. I love this all-nude piece so much and it’s giving me elegant vibes that are distinctly feminine. The floral embellishments are perfectly placed. Photo: Wesley Kow
Great collections tell a story, and Jirawat’s collection was inspired by photographer Charles Freger’s book Wilder Mann. Piece after piece featured intricate stitching that turned heads and implied a very artistic mind. I have a weakness for embroidered jackets, and this embroidered leather jacket was everything to me. The intricate lace on the blouse gave this look a nice, feminine touch and is simple enough to wear anywhere. Photo: Wesley Kow
