Autumn/Winter 2016 has given us beautiful new trends to try, from ruffles to the ever-comfortable oversized trend. What stands out, though, are the beautiful colours of this season. The only thing is that some of them are pretty bright.
Alright, I’ll be the first to say it; I do not wear much colour. Seriously, I’m all about that black, white and grey wardrobe, with the occasional burgundy, camel or navy blue piece tucked away somewhere. Recently however, I’ve been exploring the brighter colours, with by adding mustard yellow, pastel pink and even teal to my OOTDs. Brighter colours may be loud, but they can still be so chic. So for all of you monochromatic souls out there; take a look … You might be surprised at how appealing bright colours can be!

Hot red
Bright red has always been and always will be the sexiest colour in the rainbow! This sportswear inspired look is super sexy but has a casual but stylish look thanks to the classic red Prada stilettos. Photos: Adidas, American Eagle Outfitter, Prada/Net-a-Porter.com
Ochre (orange)
This earthy colour is the warm shade of clay, and is a somewhat unorthodox colour. Refresh your regular style with a military-inspired jacket and match it with more neutral black and white so that it’s a little more wearable. Pair these with a good old pair of Charles & Keith Block Heel Ankle Boots ($79.90) and you’re good to go! Photos: Zara, Temperly London/Net-a-Porter, Charles & Keith
Yellow
Sunny yellows are instant mood lifters, and wearing this happy colour will certainly make you feel a boost in energy throughout the day. This outfit looks wonderful when plain, but should you decide to add accessories, some pearls would really make this outfit!. Photos: Zara, Mango
Sea green
This sea-green shade has tropical vibes that are so relaxing to look at. This is a super simple but cute look. Throw on some sunglasses and this outfit will be complete! Photos: Paloma Blue/Net-a-Porter, Mango, Charles & Keith
Sky blue
This sky blue is so cool and cute, and throwing the bright red into the mix makes each colour really pop and stand out! And guys, bowler hats are just so #cute. Photo: Zara, Mango, Charles & Keith, Fancyqube/Lazada.com
Royal Purple
Purple definitely has got to be the hardest colour to match with, which is probably why you wouldn’t ordinarily wear it. Pair this outfit with a white statement bag of your choice and you’re set! Photos: Ted Baker, Mango, Charles & Keith
