The vacation-ready glamour of Cruise collections has to be one of our favourite moments on the fashion calendar. This season it’s all about mid-length billowing hems, theatrical maxi dresses, gothic florals and 80s chic (think Bianca Jagger meets Chanel).
Here are some of the most outstanding outfits for some wardrobe update inspiration.

This is not a garish throwback. Think monochrome, structured tailoring and preppy co-ords, all seen at Jil Sander, Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Prada. We can’t get enough of this reinvented classic.

A bold-shoulder shirt and tailored pants combo paired with braces and sneakers make this outfit a little androgynous and a little rebellious, both classic 80s fashion trends. A contrast bag make it a little more street.

Peplums, flares and layered tulips were seen on seventies-vibe tops and trousers across a range of collections. A much more practical take on this established trend, you’ll be dipping your sleeves in you supper no more, so you can stay chic all night.

A cutesy seventies mini covered in daisy appliqué is a classic Resort piece. We love the shortened bell sleeves and black edges which demand the piece to be taken more seriously – also nodding to the dark florals trend.

Batsheva’s entire collection this season comprises statement mid-length sleeved dresses in block colours and understated prints. The pieces are perfect for chic office dressing, taking you from work to weekend.

Theatrical and bewitching goth prints in red, black and mauve add a touch of maturity among the otherwise light and airy cruise collections. We love the contrast and variety seen at Christian Dior, Anna Sui and Erdem, letting you switch it up from day to night.

This season, Anna Sui has gone all-out on the dark florals trend. Seen on nightwear-as-outerwear co-ords, shirts and mid-length wide leg trousers (another big trend), we love the commitment to this vibe – but we can’t choose a favourite.

The Erdem silhouette this resort season is loose and flowy on top and sharp and slinky along the edges. Tidy buns, bows and kitten heels polish off the otherwise witchy aesthetic.

Loud, bold and unashamed in length, volume and print, Resort dresses by Roksanda, La DoubleJ, Gucci and Osman are made to awe and dominate. There’s no looking away from these breathtaking creations – and why would you want to.

Easy on the eyes, Roksanda’s collection this season is all dreamy plats (huge trend) and complementary colours. This timeless dusky rose and plush purple piece will see you season through season.

La DoubleJ has struck gold with a gorgeous and dramatic Resort range. We love the turquoise and tomato empire line maxi that’s captured fashion editors’ attention.

This Osman dress is right on the money, sporting layered plumes, bell sleeves and a kaleidoscopic print (all big trends this Resort season). It’s big, bold, beautiful and still wearable thanks to the muted black, beige and blue colourway.
