Pre-wedding skincare: 11 beauty products the Her World Brides team's obsessed with now
Dr T Series Recover Serum (HKD 680 for 30ml)
image

Contributing Editor Steve says:

So I used the collagen serum, which promises to boost collagen and elastin production as well as repair damaged skin thanks to copper peptide, and truly, it worked great! After four days, there really was a visible difference to my skin  – smoother, more ‘bouncy’ and soft, and also a lot less dry. It’s a nod from me if you’re a busy bride who wants to see quick results.

Approximately SGD 119.50. Available at www.drtseries.com.

Sunday Riley Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment ($148 for 30ml)
image

Stylist Michelle says:

Can’t stop obsessing over this – Sunday Riley’s Good Genes definitely lives up to its cult-favourite reputation. This lactic acid treatment can be worn under your moisturiser as a leave-on treatment. I have sensitive skin (these brightening facial peels are great for brides with sensitive skin!), so I used it as a mask and washed it off after 15 minutes, as recommended. My face was a little blotchy and dull in the morning after a late night out but this treatment came to the rescue – no one could tell!

Available at Sephora.

Porcelain Intensive HA+ Hydrating Serum ($198 for 30ml)
image

Writer Cassandra says:

Lightweight, gentle and effective, this hydrating serum with skin- balancing properties by Porcelain really delivers.

I prefer to use this as part of my daytime skin regime as it isn’t too heavy for long-wear. My skin feels soft, plump and hydrated, and best of all, it doesn’t get too oily, even though its highly moisturizing.

It contains four powerhouse ingredients: wakame to reduce redness and wrinkles, probiotics to counter the bacteria causing acne, elderflower to disarm free radicals and hyaluronic acid to intensely hydrate skin!

Available at www.shopporcelain.com.

Hada Labo Oil-In-Lotion ($25.90 for 170ml)
image

Stylist Michelle says:

Squalane, a more stable form of squalene which occurs naturally in our body, is big in beauty now – this facial oil is hydrating, soothing and non-comedogenic so you don’t have to worry about clogged pores and breakouts. The lotion delivers hydration deep into your skin, while the oil locks it in. I use it at night after my serum (it makes my skin look a tad shinier in the day so I use the brand’s Hydrating Lotion (Light) in place of it).

Available at Guardian, Watsons, selected NTUC FairPrice, Sasa and selected departmental stores.

IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Breakout ($46 for 11ml)
image

Writer Cassandra says:

Concealers usually causes my skin to breakout. I’ve never found one that doesn’t irritate my skin after a few applications, and resigned myself to leaving the redness around my nose alone.

So cue my surprise when IT Cosmetics’s spot treatment concealer Bye Bye Breakout actually didn’t cause wreckage to my face! It not only concealed my redness and pimples, it effectively treated my blemishes too.

I’ve been using this for the last month now and I think it’s pretty amazing that the area around my nose and upper lips is still pimple free. The formula is lightweight but delivers full-coverage, and blends in effortlessly into my skin.

Ingredients include oil-absorbing zinc oxide, kaolin clay, witch hazel, tea tree, sulfur and AHA/BHA complex to clear up the pimple quickly without over-drying your skin.

Available at Sephora.

Pixi T Zone Peel Off Mask
image

Writer Cassandra says:

Mud masks are aplenty in the market. This one however, is really gentle on the skin. I expected it to make my skin feel too tight but instead, it was calming and an ease to peel off (I’d recommend applying it on thickly), after it dried. My partner, a total newbie to the phenomena of a mud mask, was also surprised at his results, and for the first time in his life, bade farewell to his blackheads and whiteheads.

This mineral-rich treatment mask really drew out the impurities and left our T-Zone clear, revitalized and bright. I use this once a week and that’s enough to keep my the buildup of blackheads at bay and clear up my T-zone.

Ingredients include kaolin and sea salt for purifying properties, and ginseng and aloe vera for a calming balance.

Available at Sephora.

Allies Of Skin Promise Keeper Blemish Facial, $169 for 50ml
image

For evenings you just want to slap on one product (How do those Koreans do it with the 10-step routine?!) while having pimples, this is my go-to. It’s basically a facial in a tube, with added zit-fighting properties – it gently exfoliates the skin, regulates sebum production, hydrates and unclogs pores. After a few nights of using it, there’s a luminosity to my complexion, too.

Available at Sephora.

Herbivore Jasmine Green Tea Toner 4 59
image

Associate art director Wendy says:

I love how this perks me up instantly – it’s refreshing and light I used it daily. It targets oiliness with green tea, but didn’t dry out out my cheeks (I have combination skin), plus I saw less red patches.

Available at Sephora.

Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Serum ($77 for 40ml)
image

Associate art director Wendy says:

The texture was a bit of a surprise – instead of the classic watery texture, I got a gel-like cream. This feels a bit heavy upon application so I’d recommend using it at night if you aren’t a fan of a slightly sticky feeling during the day. But it’s great for folks with really dry skin. I have combination skin, with my cheeks often getting very parched and prone to breakouts – I woke up to very well moisturised and supple skin the next morning!

Available at Sephora.

Canvas Rose Otto Overnight Intense Moisture Mask ($112.90 for 50ml)
image

Stylist Michelle says:

Its formulated with Rose Otto (rose oil extracted from the petals of the flower via steam) so I expected a richer cream but the smooth consistency absorbed well and felt comfortable and velvety – It’s great for hydration especially if you sleep in an air-conditioned room. Bonus: it smells great as well.

Available at www.canvasbeauty.com.sg.

111 Skincare Anti Blemish Booster
image

Stylist Michelle says:

If you need a spot treatment that works fast, get yourself this game-changer – it doesn’t just target existing pimples, it’s great for when you see early signs of a blemish or during the healing process. Within a few days, a post-acne red mark had considerably lightened. An impending pimple also dried up the next morning. And if you’re wearing makeup during a breakout (hey, a girl needs her makeup), you can also add a few drops to your foundation (or your day or night creams).

Available at Robinsons.
