Under Armour’s biomechanics research team found that women have shorter heels, more sensitive arches and less volume at the forefoot area — and these findings culminated in a gender-specific shoe to directly address the issues that both genders face with their physical differences. The result: Better fit and stability that is also afforded by the use of the brand’s HOVR foam.
You might find your performance improve too, as the foam cushioning and an engineered mid and outsole aids efficient running movements. In addition, the shoe also connects to the brand’s MapMyRun app via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to allow you to track your progress. Available in four designs, we especially love this piece that comes with loud pink accents.

Developed by a team of scientists and designers at the ASICS Institute of Sport Science (ISS) in Kobe, Japan, the MetaRide shoe is engineered to reduce movement and energy loss at the ankle joint, which they claim is where most energy loss occurs during running. This is done by optimising the gait cycle by creating a new precision-shaped curved sole, called Guidesole, that aids the shift of the body weight forward to propel runners in a seamless motion.
Created for long-distance runners, the red bottomed pair will definitely stand out both in terms of design and technology. While there will only be a limited quantity released for this piece, a takedown model is planned for autumn with various price points.

The iconic Adidas Ultraboost is simplified — from 17 parts to four — to ensure that every component delivers support and functionality to boost (pun intended) your performance.
Lightweight and breathable Primeknit upper is enhanced with motion weave technology to ensure that stretch is provided while holding the foot in place. A new Torsion Spring technology is also constructed to help retain and return the energy of each step so as to reduce energy loss and increase efficiency. The Boost midsole also touts 20 per cent more suspension. Available in five colourways.

ASICS is known for their Gel technology, which the brand claims to provide superior comfort and cushioning. And it is this technology that has been emphasised in this model with it being used as a full length midsole. For people who deal with aching soles after a round of exercise, the Gel-Quantum Infinity shoes would perhaps provide you with the support you didn’t have.
Available in three colourways, two new combinations, white/black and white/blue coast, will be released in March and April respectively.

Combining the house’s iconic Belle Vivier buckle with the curved silhouette of the Choc heel, French shoemaker Roger Vivier presents its own version of a running shoe. Whether you choose a crystal embellished buckle like this, or one made simply with rubber, this pair aims to be the rose amongst the shoes in your closet.
While this shoe touts the use of “high performance materials” in its make-up, we think this pair is more of a comfy yet stylish alternative to your heels — in other words, best used for shopping and running errands, and not for actual running. Available in 16 colour combinations.
