Just like hunting for a present for men, finding a gift for kids can be a challenge. Toys might be an obvious option, but for us, it’s clothes – after all, they’ll definitely come in useful.
We know that it’s not easy to find kids clothes that’re functional, adorable and stylish at the same time. Don’t fret, we’ve sussed out five local brands that offer stylish children clothing for both boys and girls – perfect for gifting when your besties or your relatives are having a birthday shower for their toddlers.
Did you know that this local ready-to-wear label has been offering children’s clothes since its induction in 2013? Yes its timeless wardrobe staples are also available for kids between the ages of 3 and 8. Coined “Mini Me”, the collection comprises basics like striped T-shirts and off-shoulder playsuits (pictured above). Prices start from $79.
Founded by couple Iris Sangalang and Dustin Ramos, this Singapore-based label started off with menswear in 2018, with fabrics sourced from Japan and garbs produced in Los Angeles. Two years later, they launched children’s wear, with designs that are stylish, “comfortable [and] parent-proof, that empower kids to be kids”. Prices start from US$26 (S$36.21).
Founded by Velda Tan, this three-year-old local label offers comfy everyday wear for the modern woman. Its design motto is also translated into its childrenswear, which was launched in 2018. Expect jumpsuits with abstract prints and cheery ruffled swimsuits. Prices start from $12.
Husband-and-wife duo Robyn Liang and Dylan Ong started their business to address the lack of affordable-yet-high quality childrenswear here. The couple, who used to work in the finance industry, took nine months to plan and establish the label before launching its first collection in 2013. Currently, Le Petit Society offers a variety of apparel for both boys and girls, as well as matching T-shirts for parents and children. Prices start from $30.
This sustainable kidswear brand was launched in 2016 by sisters Beth and Sarah Medley. All of its clothes are made from 100 per cent organic cotton, with colours obtained by eco dyes so as to reduce its carbon footprint. You’ll be able to find cheery frill dresses, jumpsuits and even stylish bibs. Prices start from $19.
