Positano

This scenic cliffside town on Amalfi Coast has all the ingredients for a romantic southern-Italian getaway – pebble beachfront, steep narrow streets lined with boutiques and cafes, wisteria-draped hotels, tumbling vertiginous houses and incredible views of the coastline and ocean.

As John Steinbeck wrote in 1953 for Harper’s Bazaar : “Positano bites deep. It is a dream place that isn’t quite real when you are there and becomes beckoningly real after you have gone”.

One of the most historic towns along the famous Amalfi Coast, it starts at the water’s edge with a pretty promenade along the Mediterranean. No trip is complete without a visit to Piazza del Duomo- the main square that’s clustered with charming sidewalk cafes and elegant shops. And as sunset approaches, sip on a limoncello while basking in the romantic glow of dusk.
