This 13th century castle is set on 350 acres of land on the banks of Lough Corrib (the second largest lake in the country), western Ireland. The castle, which is also home to the Falconry School in Ireland, lets couples rent their resident owl, Dingle, who is tame enough to play a part in wedding proposals, and more!
Once the royal residence of Hawaii’s last two monarchs, King Kalakaua and Queen Lili`uokalani, the building, which features the distinct style of Hawaiian Renaissance architecture, is now open for wedding ceremonies.
Boasting towering gilded structures and magnificent frescoes, the castle, located in the spectacular Italian city of Bracciano, Lazio, has witnessed star-studded unions, including Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, as well as Sabine Ghanem and Joseph Getty.
Located atop a hill in the Sintra Mountains (about 529m), the vibrant and imposing palace boasts views of lush trees from the park, and can easily be viewed in Lisbon and all around the Parque da Pena. The building also offers a mix of styles – from Romantic and Neo-Gothic, to Neo-Islamic and Neo-Renaissance – which makes this a special place to wed in.
