Ever wondered how a pre-wedding shoot in Little India would look like?
For Dasreena Kaur and Ishvinder Singh, they knew they wanted their shoot to capture the beauty and vibrancy of Singapore and decided on Little India – even before they found their photographer.
“We felt [Little India] to be a place bustling with colours, activity and culture. Moreover, we wanted to do something different from the norm and Little India seemed to be a rather unconventional choice for a wedding shoot”, says Dasreena.
Things rolled along after meeting with the Androidsinboots team, with one of their previous projects that was shot in Hong Kong becoming the main inspiration for the couple’s shoot concept and theme.

“Felicia from Androidsinboots took us through a brainstorming session and we were inspired by a shoot the team had previously done amidst the busy streets of Hong Kong.
We decided to adapt the same style and approach, but in Singapore! Our shoot captured the hustle and bustle and transformation of Little India as day transitioned to night.”
“Chemistry is very important.
Before meeting the photographer, it would be helpful you have an idea of the type of shoot you’re going for. This will help the photographer in understanding you better.”
“Shortlist the photographers whose portfolio you feel a connection with and meet them to ensure your needs are understood and that they share the same vision as you. Good photographers will listen to you and advise you.”
“We had 2 changes of outfits and 3 location shoots in Little India. It wasn’t easy having to walk around in my wedding gown which had a long train – especially during peak hour.”
“It took us many tries (and walks!) to capture our image at the pedestrian crossing during the peak hour. We had to keep running across the traffic lights. This was rather tiring as we were already drained of energy from our day shoot.
Luckily for us, my close friend, Ratha, was there to help out. I would recommend couples to bring a friend along to their shoot for extra help!”
“Brides are exposed to an overwhelming array of services and there is a tendency to sign up for services which may be out of your budget. Knowing what you want and having a written list of vendors and their charges will help you to stick to your budget.
Read reviews of vendors you plan to engage and compare rates and services they provide. Go for a few makeup trials before deciding on the artist and look out for wedding shows and events to enjoy promotional prices.
Most importantly, get the help of friends and family to prevent yourself from becoming Bridezilla! Your big day goes by in a blink of the eye although it takes months of preparation. Relax and enjoy the day!”
