Chinese actress Tiffany Tang’s (also known as Tang Yan) extravagant red and gold wedding kua with ornate embroidered dragons was created by Guo Pei, and belonged to the couturier’s Marriage Collection. She and fellow actor Luo Jin got hitched with a beautiful low-key wedding in romantic Vienna, Austria.

TVB stars Grace Chan and Kevin tied the knot with a beautiful destination wedding at the Bvlgari Resort in Bali. The actress went for a pink-toned kua which wasn’t just an unconventional choice but had plenty of sentimental value – her mum wore it to her own wedding in 1984!

In 2017, local actress Jesseca Liu married fellow actor, host and comedian Jeremy Chan at a dreamy seaside wedding in Langkawi. For the tea ceremony, Jesseca opted an fuchsia satin silk cheongsam from Singapore designer Lai Chan, which had yellow jadeite buttons. Her groom was dressed in a tailored light wool changsan with green jadeite buttons, also from Lai Chan.

Who can forget Taiwanese actress Ady An’s beautiful nuptials in Hawaii? Before slipping into her elegant Stephane Rolland bridal gown, she donned a Qun Kua with exquisite gold embroidery in the morning for the “bride fetching” ceremony.

Popularly known by her Chinese name, Liu Shi Shi, Cecilia married her Scarlet Heart co-star Nicky Wu in a gorgeous pastel-hued wedding in Bali.  Her lavish Kua was sewn with dragons and phoenixes.

Romance of the Condor Heroes co-stars Michelle Chen Chen and Chen Xiao, who played Dragon Girl and Yang Guo, took their romance off-screen and got hitched last year. Instead of the classic red and gold palette, Michelle went for a vivid orange Qun Kua, while her groom went for light blue and gold.

Said to cost almost 200 million yuan, actors Angelababy and Huang Xiaoming certainly had the wedding of the year when tied the knot in 2015. The couple took the traditional route for their tea ceremony, with the bride in an elaborate red Qun Kua with an intricately embroidered gold phoenix.

In December 2016, actor Dai Xiangyu, formerly known as Dai Yangtian, and fellow actress Chen Zihan had a romantic castle wedding held in Barcelona, Spain. The bride’s qun kua for the tea ceremony had beautiful dragon,phoenix and floral embroidery, which she paired with a traditional headdress.

Hong Kong actress Myolie Wu’s, who’s also the co-owner of wedding dress label Kevolie, magnificent Qun Kua was painstakingly handcrafted by a master tailor in China. Not only did it take nearly a year to complete, it apparently also cost about twenty thousand Hong Kong dollars!

For her wedding to actor Golden Zhang Lun Shuo, Canadian actress Christy Chung’s choice of garb for her traditional outfit was this elaborate Kua, which reportedly took 2,200 hours of sewing. Following Chinese customs, she also donned dragon and phoenix bangles, necklaces and rings to usher in a harmonious and prosperous marriage.

Singapore-born actor Ken Chu of F4 fame wed Chinese actress Vivien Han with a beautiful ceremony at The Mulia, Bali. For the Chinese ceremony, the couple (Ken was in a black and red chang shan with gold embroidery) chose elaborate designs from couturier Guo Pei.
