We had a big fat Chinese wedding! We wanted a fun, casual reception, but it turned out to be more elaborate than we expected. What really mattered was that everyone enjoyed themselves.
Oriental expression We asked guests to dress up according to the theme. Many turned up in dragon robes and peony dresses, and went around complimenting or making fun of each other’s outfits. It was a blast. We had three events in one day – the gatecrashing in the morning, the tea ceremony and lunch at Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore’s Garden Terrace, and the solemnisation and dinner at Island Ballroom.
There was so much excitement and laughter. We wish the celebrations could have lasted longer.
Absolutely stress-free Thanks to my wedding planner Denise, we were not at all stressed. In fact, I highly recommend hiring a planner, especially if you have lots of nitty-gritty details and no time to take care of them yourself.
