From tassels to chains, from miniature to oversized – the Fashion Weeks collectively displayed some incredible arm candy for A/W 2017. Handbags featured heavily across the runways, adding that extra touch to ensembles as models worked the catwalk. The major couture designers lead the way, as always, for the future trends.
Here’s our favourite 12 (there were so many it took all us all day to choose) that we’d just love to own immediately:
Balmain’s latest collection is bold and eclectic with loads of character, Balmain-style. Think models dressed in sequins and animal prints, with smoky dark liner and gold petite lips strutting down the runway and you’re on the right track. Attention grabbing is what it is, like this party bag.

Animal prints are never passe, not when Balmain makes it look so good and chic. The studs and tassel adds on an extra sophistication to the bag and we absolutely want it.

If Balmain’s animalistic adventure isn’t charming to you, then maybe Lanvin will do the job. Lanvin’s recent runway was ethereal and so dream-like, filled with intricate details – ruffles, lace and feathers, that we cannot tear our gazes off from.

To add an extra layer of attitude, Lanvin jumps onboard the animal motif, with embellishments and shoulder chains that shine. We love the layering of pouches and just might do the same.

This classy tote is perfect for everyday wear and very versatile at that. It can be carried to the office and out to a classy dinner with your friends over some drinks.

This arm candy is the embodiment of understated chic. You don’t need to be printed or studded or brightly coloured to hold people’s attention, and this little number proves it. It remains simple, with an exquisite flower embellishment and chain-like handle, the kind of bag you want to carry to an art gallery show.

Loewe is all about elegance and posh with a cheeky injection of quirk. This should be the centre of attention and best when worn with a solid colour, we don’t want to clash with this playful tote.

Returning to posh, we love this shoulder bag – colourful and exciting without being too tacky, especially next to the crystal studded, see-through top that.

Here’s one that will melt all hearts, even the dog lovers. A tan carry bag in the shape of a cat, we don’t know how others might receive this but all cat lovers are going to want this one, including us!

This S/S’17 collection from Dior is a debut for their newest and first ever female Italian fashion designer, Maria Gracia Churi. It’s filled with bold slogans and quotes, with a familiar touch from Dior’s own heritage.

In this ready-to-wear collection, there are lots of laces and see-through, in black and nude, giving that rocker chick meets couture look. An office and street ready sort of bag that is great to show off all that inner attitude you pack, to wherever you may carry this.

Simple yet it commands so much attention and character, this Dior shoulder bag is going to show you and the people around who’s boss and should not be messed around with.

Without forgetting Dior’s heritage, ethereal evening gowns and classics like the Lady Dior bag appears in her first ever collection. But of course, not without a cheeky addition of studs to their ever-popular Lady Dior bag.

Prints, shapes and bold colours are what this entire collection from Dries Van Noten is about, while keeping it elegant. Showing through this bag, that exudes a sense of royalty and class with the snakeskin-like design and choice of rich colours.
