This season saw many peculiar silhouttes and forms of bags. First there was Chanel with its iconic rocket-shaped bag which left us all bewildered by our own desire to own the captivating – albeit impractical – receptacle. Then came Dolce and Gabbana’s plethora of everyday object-like crossover body-bags that left us scraping our jaws off the floor. T’was a slightly bizzare season, no doubt. But we can’t help but catch the underlying message that was echoed by designers across the industry; They’ll no longer take themselves too seriously – after all, quirky is the new vogue.
