Son Ye-jin’s everyday makeup and hairstyle tips to look youthful

Half of the scenes that Son Ye-jin played in Crash Landing On You was set in North Korea. As such, her makeup was kept to the minimum, and it showed off her porcelain skin underneath. Privately, Son loves outdoor activities and she exemplifies this with her penchant for natural, glowy makeup.

To recreate the same look, go with a less-is-more approach with your foundation while treating blemishes with localised concealer application. Note that a heavy foundation base can make you look older!

Many ladies like to use false lashes to create the baby doll-eye effect. But Son doesn’t do that with her eye makeup. The result is a softer, gentler look that makes her look approachable.

Another key point in Son’s makeup is her eyebrows. She doesn’t go for an overly polished eyebrow with defined arches, but a groomed look that’s smooth and soft.

After her return to South Korea, Son’s character sported striking colours befitting of her status as a CEO. Her everyday makeup, however, eschews bright colours in favour of MLBB (my lips but better) shades. Crash’s makeup artist revealed that Son naturally has lips with a reddish hue but anyone else can recreate the look with the right shade of tinted lip balm.

For her everyday look, Son leans towards casual hairstyles especially since she loves heading to the beach. Whether it is double-strand braids or a topknot, such easy and neat hairstyles are good to have in your repertoire.
