Created in 2011 by Julia Wills and Alexander Kummerow in the United States, Herbivore Botanicals is a clean beauty brand that uses plant-based, food-grade cold-pressed oils, steam distilled therapeutic-grade essential oils, GMO free soy wax and recyclable and reusable packaging among other natural and certified organic ingredients. This pink clay mask uses kaolin clay and French Pink Clay to draw out impurities, while chamomile and rose petals soothe skin, leaving it soft and smooth.

German holistic skincare brand Dr. Hauschka gets its ingredients from its own biodynamic farm, as well as organic cultivation projects worldwide. Its Revitalizing Mask, suitable for all skin types and conditions, soothes skin redness while refining the appearance of enlarged pores. Jojoba, apricot kernel and wheat germ oils help clarify and nourish skin, so it feels more refreshed and looks more even toned.

Josh Rosebrook Face Cacao Antioxidant Mask, $105

Josh Rosebrook is a US-based hair and skincare clean beauty brand. This Cacao Antioxidant Mask is said to slow down cell decline and improve collagen production, improving skin elasticity and luminosity. The active ingredient, cacao, also helps improve circulation to support skin’s natural healing ability, while plant oils such as jojoba, almond, avocado and sunflower, and superfood extracts such as goji berry and turmeric, calm, nourish and hydrate skin. You’d have to leave on this mask for 30-45 minutes to reap its detoxifying, rejuvenating and purifying properties before rinsing it off.

Australia-based brand Canvas has a minimum of 90 per cent organic ingredients in its products, besides being free of parabens, sulfates, GMOs, phthalates and synthetic fragrances and dye. This Detox Facial Mask is made with 99.45 per cent natural and certified organic ingredients, and has ashwagandha (also known as Indian ginseng) to boost cell regeneration and strengthen skin’s epidermis layer, milk thistle to detoxify and repair, vitamin C to protect against free radical damage and kaolin to control sebum production, draw out impurities and reduce the appearance of enlarged pores.

It’s made from a 100 per cent biodegradable material called Veocel and infused with 70 per cent of a 30ml bottle of the brand’s best-selling Drops of Youth Youth Concentrate to intensely hydrate skin. Edelweiss, criste marine and sea holly stem cells help regenerate skin while organic babassu oil, with its potent antioxidant properties protect against free radicals and prevent premature skin ageing.

Colombian-born Tata Harper founded her eponymous skincare brand in 2005. The US-based brand is one of the frontrunners of clean beauty, formulating products free from GMOs, fillers, artificial colours and synthetic chemicals. This Hydrating Floral Mask has hyaluronic acid in 1,000 sizes to replenish moisture to all the different skin layers. Local skincare brand Kew Organics’ products are made in Canada and Japan, and use only vegan, non-GMO, natural and certified organic ingredients. This Ultra-Revive H2O+ Masque is a leave-on mask that’s suitable for all skin types. Organic green tea extract protects skin from free radicals, organic witch hazel extract reduces inflammation and cellular damage, while a plant extract known as asafoetida inhibits tyrosine production to diminish the appearance of pigmentation and control sebum production. Hyaluronic acid and hydrolysed collagen plumps and smooths skin.
