The most value-for-money beauty gifts to buy this Christmas
SK-II Crystal Clear Skin Set, $259
This set from SK-II contains a generously sized 230ml Facial Treatment Essence, as well as a 230ml Facial Treatment Clear Lotion. If you consider that the price of the set already covers the full price of the Facial Treatment Essence, then you’re essentially getting to try the Clear Lotion as a bonus! If you know someone in your life who is a die-hard SK-II fan or want to get into the Japanese brand yourself, this is definitely an option.
This kit contains a full-sized bottle of Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II that is in itself worth $118, as well as a 5ml travel sized edition of the Advanced Night Repair (ANR) Eye Synchronized Complex II, plus a 30ml Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Foam thrown in for good measure. The ANR is one of my favourite nighttime skincare products – I actually see a difference in my skin overnight. It’s one of the few pricey skincare products I’d consider repurchasing in the long run, so if you’re anything like me, this set is definitely value for money.
For basic hydration, I love the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream. Contrary to what some might think, it’s not too rich for combination skin, because the squalane in the cream is actually meant to “match” the squalane naturally found in the skin for optimum hydration without weighing it down. It also sinks in wonderfully and doesn’t feel greasy after. The full-sized cream retails for $48 for 50ml, which is the entire price of this set, so you get an additional 30ml face wash and a 40ml toner at no cost. It’s also perfectly packaged so you don’t even have to gift-wrap it! If you aren’t a fan of this range, Kiehl’s also has a bunch of other holiday sets made up of different product combinations, so you can take a look at www.kiehlstimes.com to find the perfect kit for yourself!
Belif More Than Hydration Favourites Gift Set, $54
Another brand that has plenty of holiday gift sets in various combinations is Belif. Whether you’re looking for something for oily, dry or sensitive skin, or even if you’re simply looking to replenish some best-sellers, there’s likely a set that contains the products you’re looking for. Again, the brand can be just a tad bit pricey when you buy the full-sized products, so this is a great way to venture out and try new skincare brands!
Lancome’s holiday skincare bundles are something of a holiday tradition. This kit has been bundled together with products specifically chosen to battle pesky dark spots and pigmentation, which when living in a country that’s sunny most of the year can be a very common skincare affliction. The set contains a 50ml Blanc Expert Melanolyser[AI] Spot Eraser, 50ml Purifying Foam, 15ml Beautiful Skin Tone Brightening Cream, and 15ml [AI]™ Essence in Lotion. Bought separately, this set is valued at $272, so if you’ve been meaning to try out a certain Lancome range, now is the time of the year to do so!
Shu Uemura has some of the best cleansing oils around, and best of all, they have different oils for different functions! Now, with their bottles typically coming in at 150ml for the smaller size, doesn’t this 50ml set make a fantastic travel supply? Most of the cleansing oils are about $50 for 150ml, which means this kit also saves you money. You can buy it and split it with friends who have different skin concerns, or use them all yourself on different days of the week!
The brand’s Touche Eclat is quite a timeless and amazing product, considering how long it’s been around and how popular it is. It does retail at $59 for just the Touche Eclat pen, so this set, which also includes a mini Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils, is an even sweeter option to buy this season. Plus, everything comes in a gorgeous box! My only wish is that the pen itself were available in more than just shade No.2.
I’ve mentioned this once before, but I’ll mention it again. This kit is makeup heaven for anyone who loves eyeshadows and lipsticks, and for the price, you get a really generous number of products in this Blockbuster set. It contains a Day and a Night palette, four lipsticks, a new blush and shimmer compact, two lip gloss minis, a Grand Entrance Mascara, two lip pencils and eye pencils, a three piece brush set, and a 50ml bottle of All Gone Eye Makeup Remover. What’s not to like?
